When you play, take your time and dont use power at all times. Think before you think, aim where you think will do the most damage. As a tennis player myself, I can tell you, even if you're losing, believe that you can win, and make every shot worth hitting. Make your opponent, even if he/she is winning, feel pressured. If they see you still running after ball and playing as if you're the one winning, their confidence will start dropping. Keep your self esteem up by moving continually, dont just stand there. Act like you're into the game, get into the game, and enjoy the game. Tell yourself you can win and you might just be able to surpass your opponent in points AND confidence =] hope that helps >>; [ Altruistic's advice column | Ask Altruistic A Question ]

Take your anger and use it to your advantage. Channel your anger to your body and use that fierce and strong attitude when you serve.
The only way to keep your confidence is to remind yourself you are good and you work hard. Don't punish yourself, but instead imagine yourself winning. The most important factor is to practice, practice, practice, the sure-fire way to gain and keep your confidence. [ MelikoDee's advice column | Ask MelikoDee A Question ]

Try yoga breathing.
When you inhale, concentrate on air filling up inside of your body from your nose, through your torso, and all the way through your fingertips.
Exhale through your mouth and try to picture the negative emotion being pushed out. I know this sounds hippie-esque, but it works.
Self-eteem issues?
My theater teacher once told me to "Fake it till you make it". Not confident? Pretend you are. Pretend you kick so much ass that you can't even stand it. Eventually, you'll talk yourself into the idea and it'll become truth.
Hope this helps. [ despite_the_radio's advice column | Ask despite_the_radio A Question ]
