My skin has so much oil on it! I cleanse my face and everything, but then it gets grosley shiny. I also have a problem with blackheads. What should I do? I feel I'd be pretty if those things were gone! HELP!

If you wear foundation, make sure that it's water-based, not oil-based. Wash your face with a cleanser made specifically for oily skin, and to control the shine during the day, you can use oil blotters or oil-obsorbing powder.
After you wash your face, try using a toner to suck up that extra bit of grime that gets left behind.
For blackheads, you'll want to use a scrub to exfoliate with about 3-5 times a day, depending on how sensitive your skin is. Don't waste your time with those strips that claim to pull crap out of your face. They're overpriced and they don't work. If you don't mind spending a bit of money, I'd reccommend a facial every 3 months or so. Most salons provide that service.
Remember though, that even if you have oily skin, you still need to use a moisturizer. Just make sure that the one you use (and everything else you use on your face) is not oil-based. Hope this helps. [ despite_the_radio's advice column | Ask despite_the_radio A Question ]

Mackenzie answered Sunday October 16 2005, 12:49 pm: I say it's always best to use a simple acne and oil fighting product; such as:
Also, if you're willing to entertain the idea of a facial, those are awesome. Certain types target specific problems, so make sure to read the label. It's a fun, easy and CHEAP way to renew your skin. I usually get some friends together and make a night of it, but that's just me. :P If you're interested though, we keep it simple.. and use:
So yeah, those are the products I use, and I can honestly say I have seen nothing short of fantastic results. [:
Something else I'd like to add. I see you've been recommended Biore Pore Cleansing Strips? I've never personally tried them, so I can't give my opinion either way. However, a bunch of my friends have. They said it's the 'biggest joke on the market'.. (Just figured you might appreciate ALL opinions. :D) [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
SouthernGirl323 answered Sunday October 16 2005, 12:48 pm: try a face cleaner with an alcohol solution in it. i use the clinique clarifying lotion 2. it works pretty well at removing blackheads and keeping my face free of oil. they have a few other clarifying lotions as well..i think it goes 1-4or5 and its not too expensive...i think it was $10 for a 13.5 fl.oz. bottle. :) [ SouthernGirl323's advice column | Ask SouthernGirl323 A Question ]
PolishLaska answered Sunday October 16 2005, 12:26 pm: Hey.. hmm thats a tough question. Id say to use Neutrogena or Clean And Clear acne scubs. I use this Neutrogena 60 Second scrub mask and it took out most of my blackheads ! If that doesnt work id recommend seeing a dermotologist cause theyre the only ones that will actually know whats wrong with your skin and maybe will prescribe something for you. =) good luck xO [ PolishLaska's advice column | Ask PolishLaska A Question ]
Ivy921 answered Sunday October 16 2005, 12:15 pm: The biore strips are good for blackheads, but maybe a trip to a dermatologist could help. He/she would be able to give you something that could get the shine away without drying out your skin. [ Ivy921's advice column | Ask Ivy921 A Question ]

Vendetta answered Sunday October 16 2005, 11:56 am: You might want to see a dermatologist. Sometimes putting moisturizer on it actually clogs up the pores and makes it worse. A dermatologist will recommend a good soap or something to wash your face with to make your problems less noticible and/or go away completely. [ Vendetta's advice column | Ask Vendetta A Question ]
xxoBriannax answered Sunday October 16 2005, 10:59 am: Get Biore Shine Control - it works amazingly! Try to wear powder makeup instead of foundation, that makes you skin oily. Get astringent for your blackheads, or pop them and they'll be gone. You can also go to google and type in home remedies for oily skin. They have a bunch of recipes that work really well!
