is there any way to get maple syrup out of a shirt?

If it's a white shirt, use bleach(duh). But if not, try a stain remover of some sort, like shout or something, let it set in and then wash it normally.

If that doesn't work, all I can suggest is putting a patch over it or something.

Sometimes a syrup stain doesn't come out so easily, Try a spray called totally toddler. You let it sit into the fabric for about 15 minutes, then just run it through the regular wash. Totally Toddler can be found usually in a baby isle of a store. Used for a variety of stains.

Pre-treat it with whatever detergent you have. Let it sit for about an hour with detergent on the stain. Throw it in the wash, and make sure it "soaks" in the water for about 15 minutes. It should come right out.

try like...oxyclean, or put era directly on the stain, and then wash it. (or do both) let me know how it works out. it usually works
