As for the dying part, that might be a coincidence. Bleaching does have a tendency to tear up your hair, but I've never heard anything of it making your hair fall out. [ silversky89's advice column | Ask silversky89 A Question ]

amach24 answered Wednesday October 5 2005, 3:39 pm: Hi there,
It's possible that you may have an iron deficiency. I myself had been losing my hair. Although I'm in my twenties, it was still abnormal to have so much hair coming out when I showered or brushed it.
I went to the dermatologist by the suggestion of my primary care doctor and they took a small sample of blood to rule out anything serious and found that my iron levels were low. That could be due to heavy periods or not enough iron in my diet. You can buy iron at any drug store BUT, you must go to the doctor first to make sure you are iron deficient because getting too much iron can actually make you very ill. But as I said, if you do find that you need it, it's very possible that you will stop losing hair. I am now growing new hair again. Of course stress is another possiblity in which case you should still see your doctor. Try not to get too worried about this, there is an answer, you just need to make an appointment and go see someone. Good luck and hang in there! [ amach24's advice column | Ask amach24 A Question ]
Imperialistic answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 8:03 pm: Don't worry about it, honey. I was 15 and I had goregous hair but it started thinning.
My doctor told me that while I lose hair every day, after every few years my scalp lets go a bunch of hair to rejuvenate itself.
It happens with everyone but mostly only people who take great care in their hair actually notice.
If it continues to presist over the next few months though, I would recommend seeing a doctor because the hair is lost at once and not in a gradual process. [ Imperialistic's advice column | Ask Imperialistic A Question ]
SoInToYoUx0x answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 7:03 pm: what you can do is go to a salon and let them put hair treatment in it which helps the hair grow more and fall less. it doesnt cost that much either. (10-30 dollars)

*Kate* answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 6:29 pm: It could be from the hair dye but if you have been really really sick within the last six months that can also cause your hair to fall out. your hair goes through growing cycles so if you were ill or really stressed the hair didnt grow as much and now it seems like you are losing alot. You are most likely losing the same amount but you just havent grown the amount that you usually do. I am only talking about hair coming out in your brush or when you shower, but if your hair is falling out in clumps I would suggest seeing a doctor. [ *Kate*'s advice column | Ask *Kate* A Question ]
karenR answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 6:15 pm: Well, everyone looses some hair everyday.
14 is a little young for you to be going bald! It may have something to do with the hair dye but, that usually happens at the time its done if its going to.
I wouldn't worry over much about it unless it is really big chunks of hair that leaves bald spots. If that is happening then go see a doctor and see whats up. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
Karen answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 5:59 pm: Dying your hair, even if it was your first time, causes your hair to fall out a little bit. I've dyed my hair plenty of times and my hair is not as thick and full as it was before. Do you wash or brush your hair more than you should? That also causes your hair to fall out. But the actual dye you used is probably the reason of why this is happening. [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
advicegodesses2 answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 5:37 pm: Hey,
Maybe it's because of the chemicals the dye had in it. Just don't dye your hair again. Buy some enrichening spray in conditioner.
