im like really fat.... like you dont notice it THAT much like i dont LOOK huge but i weigh like 230 pounds.. im 13 and im 5'4... how can i lose this weight because i really want to.. should i just stick to diet pills because i think i cant work it off since its probably hereditary.. i got the jene and my twin didnt because hes really skinny.. but how can i get rid of it?

hmm diet pills wont just do it alone...you need a rly good diet plan that will help you and at least TRY to work it off...

I suggest going to your family's doctor. Ask him for tips or a refrence to a Nutritionist. This can seriously help. You need to take action, getting fat can be serious.

Diet pills really aren't healthy because you can get addicted to it. Excersise is really the best way to loose weight. That and eating healthy foods. Someone I know lost a lot of excersiing by working out and running.

If you're 5'4 I'm sure a lot of people would notice you looke like fat bastard from Austin Powers, but hey, you said you dont so, you dont.

I recommend a good workout. Instead of sitting on your fat ass all day and watching TV. Damn! Whats wrong with you kids anyways?

Please, don't obsess over your weight. It's good to eat non-junky food and exercise, it's bad to become totally obsessed with looking skinny and perfect like all the models. Besides, if it's about guys (which it usually is), they tend to like a girl with some meat on her. There are plenty of beautiful girls that are bigger--you are one of them! You are never going to look perfect, and everybody has a few things that they hate about their bodies. It really saddens me to see how many young women are so obsessed with losing weight just to meet certain standards.

Trust me, even the "skinny" girls hate their bodies. They probably want to be less boney! And models don't even look that way in real life. Their bras are stuffed, their faces are airbrushed, and they've been retouched to the max. And that girl who sits behind you in math class, who has the oh-so-perfect body, slim waist, and kickin curves...probably has something really gross under her miniskirt! Who knows?

By the way, I gave you those links without permission from said girls, and I don't know them. They are just random links from livejournal communities.

Hope I gave you some encouragement. Please, please stop worrying about this so much. It is really not worth it.

Well Sweetheart, first things first. You do not need to rely on diet pills at all. Diet pills have special chemicals in them that are sometimes suitable for adults, and adults only, and even then they are not safe for people to take. They can cause long term damage to your kidneys, heart function, thyroid glands and most importantly...your self esteem. If you are really serious about losing weight, perhaps a conversation with your parents about this issue would be the first step. I know that can be hard, but if you tell them how it makes you feel, your mother or father can schedule an appoinment with your family doctor, and he can give you the healthiest way to slim down a little bit, and most likely pretty quickly too. It is going to invlolve healthy eating and some exercise. The most important things to know here, (and it's sometimes hard to see when you are only 13 years old) is that you need to feel good about yourself on the inside too. I mean that it takes a very brave and intelligent young woman to write an advice columnist for some healthy advice...and you made the right choice there. Most 13 year olds I know would never have thought to do that...so bravo to you! You must have many amazing endearing qualities that make you who you are...and what matters most in life is that, not your weight. Good luck to you.

you are gonna be able to loose that weight. even if you think you can't, you will be able to if you just set your mind on it, eat healthy, excercise plenty, and don't get all upset if it doesn't work because you should just be yourself, so don't stress. hope this advice will help ya a little bit!

hmm that's only a lot since you're short & it probably is the gene. juss try healthy. pills won't work & it'll get worse in the long run. you want to be as healthy as possible with it.

-make sure you sleep 9-10 hrs
-eat a good sized breakfast, dont skip because if you dont eat breakfast your body goes into starvation mode & you either gain weight, er won't lose any because your body doesn't burn off calories then
-eat all 3 meals
-eat every 3 hrs because it helps your metabolism, but it has to be smaller snacks with water mostly. some examples would be fruits, veggies, crackers, etc.
-try to get some exercises in such as walking er a light jog. it doesn't have to be a lot. juss something. maybe 1-2 hrs depending on what you feel like.
