friend called me fat .. ?

Question Posted Sunday September 25 2005, 12:03 am

OK, so I'm average height, average weight. My best best best best friend is this girl, let's call her Patricia. Well Patricia told my other friend "Lucy" that I was thinking of wearing a leotard for halloween, and that I would look fat in it.

Patricia doesn't know I know she said that, but Lucy told me. I'm scared to talk about it with Patricia because we have such a good time together and we see each other alot, but its kind of eating me up inside. She knows im sensitive to this subject because I was chubbier when I was younger.

What should I do?

you have to talk to her, maybe her friend she told it to bent the truth a little and you are upset for no real reason. so you need to hear her side of it so you dont just wonder whats going on. hopefully you will feel better then, i have learned that messages that are relayed from another person tend to be a little off from the truth.

shes is obviously not a that great of a friend if she called to fat behind your back. ask her about it and dont let her know it bothers you. You should still wear the leotard. as long as you feel comfortable wearing it who cares. Im sure you will look better than "Patricia" anyway ;)

WHat kind of friend talks behind your back? Not a good one. You can't keep it bottled up inside, you have to tell her how you feel. If she is the only one that thinks your fat then wear the leotard, who cares.

As fucked up as this sounds, she was probably just looking out for you in her own catty teenage girl way. She was probably worried that your costume would be really unflattering to you and therefore you shouldn't wear it. I think that you should just forget about it unless you hear her or hear about her saying something like that again. If she continues, you definitely need to confront her, but otherwise, what's the use of getting Lucy mad at you and Patricia mad at Lucy? That sounds like a lot of unnecessary tension over a silly Halloween costume.

Not all people were meant for all types of clothes. Patricia probably didn't mean for it to be mean, but being of "average" weight the leotard might still be too tight for you. You could bring it up with her, but why cause drama? I think you either just need to get a different Halloween costume, or don't listen to what others think.

First off, I'm sure your not fat at all. And no offence to your friend, but that was pretty damn bitchy of her.

Even if it's hard to confront her, you should. This will show you whether or not your friendship going to be a lasting one.

You don't have to be fat to look it in a leotard, trust me on this one.

Your friend probly didn't tell you this herself because you are sensitive about it.

My advice: don't wear the leotard and shrug it off. If it helps you feel better talk it out with your friend, but don't be upset with her (that'll just cause more drama), just tell her that you heard about her saying that and ask if she really thinks that about your halloween costume. If she does then be grateful that you found out before you wore it out in public.
