How are we supposed to know this? I don't understand what you're asking here. I'm assuming your sister seeks medical help during her pregnancies, so the doctor will be able to tell her..

There are very good odds that the child will be either MALE or FEMALE. Honestly there's a 50/50 chance of either. [Though there are more girls in the world than boys...]

We're not psychic, so I'd suggest your sister should go to the doctor or a clinic and have an ultrasound done. The doctors will then be able to tell her what sex her child will be. If all of her children are the same sex (i.e. - all are male or all are female) then there is a very high chance that the next baby will be the same sex as his/her brothers/sisters.

Go to the doctor with her to give her an examination,he will use a special device to detect the unborn baby, and then he will tell you what type of sex the unborn baby is.He will even give her a picture of it so you could view it.

A baby's sex can often be determined by an ultrasound at 18-20 weeks. This depends on the baby, to a large extent; if the baby cooperates by moving into a position that shows his or her crotch during the ultrasound, the technician can usually make a pretty good guess. It's still possible for the technician to guess *wrong*, of coure.

Here's a link with some information.

[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

It was reported a few years ago that a urine test was being developed which could determine the sex of a fetus earlier. However, as far as I know that test is not yet available to the public.

There are a lot of "old wives tales" about home tests and other ways to determine gender - the "urine in Drano" test, for example - but those really don't work. I'm afraid your sister-in-law will just have to wait another 11-13 weeks.

By the way, our ultrasound technician correctly determined the sex of our baby at our 20-week ultrasound. We weren't sure if we wanted to know, so we asked her to write it down and seal it in an envelope for us. If we wanted to know, we'd open the envelope later.

We opened it on the way home; my wife just couldn't wait. :D

I can't tell you what it feels like to suddenly KNOW that you're having a little boy or girl. It changes everything. But either way, it's wonderful!

Sooner or later they will give her an ultrasound test. When they do, they will probably be able to tell her if its a boy or girl...if she wants to know. :)
