ok well i know you're nervous. But if you just started your period or you've only had your period a couple times your period isnt going to be on schedule. It's just not meant to be that way. After you've had your period for atleast a year then they get into that kind of path like once a month every month around the same time. People do not run tests on you unless you ask them to or they think something is wrong. Trust me nothing is wrong. I got my period in january and i didnt get it again till four months latter its not a big deal. Your mother should stop scaring you with all of that test crap because when you go to your doctors all you have to say is the last time i got my period was around _____ and you fill in the blank.
I hope i helped you out!!!
Ash

Try to remember something that happened around the time of your period the last time. It'll help you get a general idea of when it came. If you had your period last month, count back 28 days from the day you were supposed to start this month and it'll tell you when you had yours last month.

Since your mom doesn't believe that you can still be irregular, have the doctor explain it to her. It's completely natural to have irregular periods at first and some women have them all their life. I'm 23 and my periods still come when they choose to, not when I expect them.

As for tests, they'll probably take a urine sample and maybe a blood sample so they can test your hormone levels. Some women have their hormones out of what which causes their periods to be irregular. If this is the case, they may put you on the pill to help regulate your hormones and your period.

Rissa,

A gynegologist appointment? Or a "normal" doctors appointment? You're a bit young for a gynecologist visit, but I suppose it's up to your mother.

Because you're still young, your body hasn't regulated your periods yet. Don't worry, this is perfectly NORMAL. You might not have a period every single month on the same day for a month or more. It's absolutely natural for your body NOT to have REGULAR periods. Even though your mom doesn't believe it, it is ABSOLUTELY true. [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

Tell the doctor that you didn't have a period this month, but tell them the last month you REMEMBER having one. If you can't remember that, just tell them you can't remember. Some girls find it helpful to mark the date they begin and end their periods until their body becomes regular so they will know when to watch for it and are not caught unprepared.

[Link](Mouse over link to see full location) << that will let you know what to expect from a pelvic exam (if that's what sort of doctors appointment you're going for). Though I still think you're too young to have a pelvic exam unless you're sexually active or have been raped. Thirteen is awfully young. Most women don't go to a gynecologist until they're 17 or 18. Just go along with what your mom has to say, and check out [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) for any other questions you might have.

youre thirteen? id be a bit more worried if your period actualy did come at the same time every monthy. just tell the doctor you dont want your mom in the room when they are running the tests on you, then dont worry about it your period shouldnt be regular yet, ive heard of it being as far out of whack as only coming 3 or 4 times a year, it wont be fully regular until your around 16 and even then alot of things can throw it off. i mean if you are really scared you can tell your doctor that your period isnt on schedule and theyll tell you the same thing i jsut did, except theyll use alot more technical mumbo jumbo.
