Aikens__Angelxo answered Friday August 19 2005, 11:09 am: well maybe it's just because you're a freshman. i'm going to be a freshman also. it's probably just the fact that highschool is a lot different than middle school. i will probably have the same problem. i dont think it will be like this all year. but to be safe i wouldnt do a sport until next year. then you'll know that you can handle it.
fall_to_pieces answered Friday August 19 2005, 12:56 am: no, it won't be like this all year. you just need to learn how to manage your time. that is why you are getting so stressed. it happens to everyone. learn time management, and things will work out. also know that the older you are the harder and more things you have to do. CallMeQt97 answered Thursday August 18 2005, 1:49 pm: try to manage your time use study halls and free periods to work on the homework and use a notebook or an agenda to keep everything organized. if you are going to start a sport use the sports schedual and manage your homework around that. if your still having trouble doing this simply talk to your counselor or school phychiatrist their really good resourses to help with homework schedual and sports schedualing help. HumanMixtape911 answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 11:23 pm: Sorry to say it but it does last all year. It was like that for me too and i played a sport every season. I felt like i was gonna explode from all the pressure but i made it through. I'll be completely honest with you..it doesn't get much easier so you'll have to adjust. I'm usually not one to suggest cheating (and for the record, i'm not telling you to cheat) but it helps to have friends in your classes that you can trust and ask for help (and sometimes answers if you're desperate). Don't worry, you can make it. I was a freshman last year and i made it so you can too. Hope i helped. HM911 [ HumanMixtape911's advice column | Ask HumanMixtape911 A Question ]
gaby09 answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 11:04 pm: first off sports dont last all year so if you decide to do one ull get a break once the seasons over. You just have to stayt organized and make sure to not laze around when you have free time and to do your hmwk. Chances r the coaches wont go so hard on everyone if they kno you have lots of hmwk because schools always put academics first. Make whatever decision you thin is right and will work for you though!
xXxpinky615xXx answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 8:57 pm: Welcome to the world of being a freshman. Yes, it's going to be like that ALL year. Your freshman and sophmore years are the ones loaded with homework, Junior and Senior years ease up alot. If you're really good at balancing your homework, a social life, and your practices/games then I say you could do it. I did fencing my freshman year and it took ALOT away from my school work and whatnot. Our fencing team was 4th in state so we have to keep up our reputation so we had practice almost 6 days a week for 2 hours. My grades started to slip, but I kept up with it. Now I'm not sure if I'll go back or not because I don't want my grades to slip again. But my suggestion to you is try out a sport for a while, and if you feel you can balance it then go for it! If it gets hard, it would be best to quit the team. Your grades are more important than sports. Without grades, then there would be no sport for you anyway! I wish you luck! Shanicole08 answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 8:39 pm: let me tell you i had SO much homework last year (my freshman year) but stick with it those good grades will look good on college apps. towards the end of the year things will probably slow down. :) some people can manage their time well and can pull off a sport, if so go for it. but if you find it's too much i would suggest to stick to the homework. it's good that you care about not failing, keep up that good attitude (it might become tough towards the end of the year) good luck! sunnyville answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 8:11 pm: what you should do is do some practice for the sport and when you feel you're ready then you could get into tournments to win trophies.Being a freshmen is no big deal but you will get a lot of classwork, homework, and progects!I went through that already and thankfully passed the grade. With your stress chill out, relax,go have some fun with your friends or family members while you still have time.Once you get into school it's going to be hard but if you try your best you'll do fine and study a lot to get good grades.
