Hey there! How do you become less addicted to the computer and the internet! Hehe, its really weird because even when I have so much things to do, I still find myself on the computer and wasting time. What to do?
DancinCutie08 answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 11:21 am: i have the same prob. i dont really know how to cure it because well im still here! i feel i can leave the comp more if have a away message up on aim because im still signed on and i feel like i wont miss anything. if your not aloud to keep on up i would recomend going to www.imforwards.com. also if your going to be on try not to waste time do something with your time like i starting making xanga layouts. try planning stuff with your friends or family so your not on here like go out to ice cream or something. or limit yourself like tell yourself you can only be on an hour a day and if your on longer you have to put a dollar in a jar and donate it or something. hope i helped [ DancinCutie08's advice column | Ask DancinCutie08 A Question ]

Playing a sport, cleaning your room, etc. You might find it easier to commit to something if somebody is depending on you. Like say you call a friend or two to go somewhere - you gotta go because you said you would. If you have like AIM or something, tell some of your friends to tell you to get off when you sign on and stuff. You know what also might help, for when you need to get something done, set a time for its due earlier than it has to be done. For example: you have to clean your room before you go to sleep, which would be lets say 11.00. In your mind set the time it needs to be done earlier, like a lot earlier like 10.15 or 9.50. Why? Because then you will remember - oh I can't stay on for too long. Hope that helps and good luck. [ HectorJr's advice column | Ask HectorJr A Question ]

SilentOne answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 5:13 am: Decide what you want to do with your life, and think about it any time you find yourself on the computer. Print something out, and pin it up above the screen so you see it no matter what. If you're addicted to an internet game, trash it, and don't re-install it. If you're seriously bad about it, give the disk to your parents and tell them not to let you have it for a month or something. Physical exertion is a good way to forget about stuff. When you're addicted, you tend to get adrenaline hits from doing whatever addicts you. Sports helps to release the body's "natural drugs" which include adrenaline, and so you feel good having done it.
