I have a horribal headach. We had no power for atleast 2 days, and it was all thunderstorms. And i couldn't sleep.
But anyways, I took tyolinal and it didnt work. I took it about 3 hours ago, it didn't work. I took the suggested amount of dosage, it still didn't work.
Anyone know a way to get rid of them? I can't take more medicen, Im not supossed to take it after withen 12 hours of last dosage. So I need your help on this one!
I'm soo sorrie to hear you get such severe headaches!! I know what it's like - I LIVE with a constant headache!! I have MSG sensitivity, so that's what does me in. It NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER goes away!! This has been going on with me since I was 7!! I get it from the foods I eat. Do you get headaches often?? Daily?? Medication for me doesn't ease the tension of my headaches either. Have you tried it all though: Tylenol? Extra Strength Advil? Ibuprofen?
Well it doesn't take a genius to tell you to try to take a nap [if possible]. Of course keep the room with dim light and zero sound. Speaking through past experiences.. the silence hurts more than noise sometimes, so maybe you might want to keep the radio on so very slightly, to the point where you can't even make out the words -- this helps me a TON!!!!!!!!! Also, it's good to make shore your hair is completely down [flat on your head] - this is one less thing tugging on your skin, ya know?? Another thing, for many people, they meditate. It probably seems silly, but I've tried it before [with as many migraines as I get I'm willing to try ANYTHING!] Just sit calmly and take small slow breaths, while picturing a scribbled on chalk board. Pretend your headache is the white chalk scribbles, and picture yourself erasing away the headache. After saying that, I realize it DOES seem a tad bit odd and off the wall, but it's completely up to you whether the headache is bad enough for you to resort to that or not, but give it a chance; no one has to know. ;D And the most IMPORTANT thing to do... apply ***strong*** pressure to the spot that is pounding, whether that be the temple, the side of your head, the top of your head, between your eyes and so on. Apply pressure and hold it down for about 30 seconds. After that, you will notice an immediate difference.
I'm sorrie for getting to this so late, but hopefully this can provide some help for next time! Best wishes, from someone who knows EXACTLY what you're going through!!! [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
mapetiteodette answered Tuesday August 16 2005, 8:27 pm: I, being a frequent sufferer of migranes, say to put a cold pack on your head (or if you don't have one, soak a paper towel in cold water and freeze it, or just directly put it on your forehead) and lie down and listen to some calm music. Take really deep breathes and concentrate on them. Take a lot of cinnamon during your day..... (not candy, real cinnamon powder) it helps regulate your levels of vitamins in your body so it doesn't get thrown out of whack, which is one reason headaches form.
I hope you get better.....I know what you're going through. [ mapetiteodette's advice column | Ask mapetiteodette A Question ]
VainTaraLynn answered Monday August 15 2005, 9:13 pm: It should say on the bottle of symptoms persist, than contact a physician. I think you should see the doctor and say that you have been getting headaches. . I do know that if its like a migrain [ a really bad headache ] that they have medication for people who have that. If it isnt that bad then have your mother buy you another form of medicine such as nyquil, dayquil, or ibprofin, those usually help me =) [ VainTaraLynn's advice column | Ask VainTaraLynn A Question ]

CApeach93 answered Monday August 15 2005, 10:38 am: this is what you do. you take a warm wash cloth and lay it over your head for 30 minutes. drink cold drinks and eat warm foods. lay your head down on a pillow for a while and just rest your head. take tylenol as much as you can without getting sick or high, just take it regularly. it will start to feel better and you will be alot better when it is over. try it and trust me. xomegaroni answered Monday August 15 2005, 9:24 am: ok this may sound stupid but juss try this, and if it doesn't work juss push it aside.
try pinching yourself, stomach, hand etc. a good spot is on ur left hand between your thumb and index finger, in that skin there. if not, rub your your head or have a cool washrag and put it over your eyes. make sure it's dark in your room and there isn't any light and lay down and stuff.
that's the only thing you can do to get rid of it other than medicine.
ncblondie answered Monday August 15 2005, 7:30 am: Take a warm bath. You could try rubbing an ice cube on your forehead for a few seconds. Get some sleep if you can. Do not take any more medicine until the time is up. You could overdose if you take more too early. Drink some water. A lot of times people get headaches because they are mildly dehydrated. If you can, massage your neck or have someone massage it for you. Sometimes a little caffeine can help. Try drinking a little soda or coffee. [ ncblondie's advice column | Ask ncblondie A Question ]
Solaris answered Monday August 15 2005, 4:05 am: Now, I understand everyone has their own little things. However, I get Migranes. Tonnes of migranes. They hurt much worse then a headache, and can last a few days. What I like to do, which helps me....could be different for you....IS I like to go in the bathroom, turn the shower to the hottest setting, and sit in the steam for a while. Like a sauna. It relaxes you, and the like. Then, after a bit of that, I generally, lay down for a bit, and get the room as dark as possible. As you may know, light makes the head hurt. I would also use Ibuprohene over tylonol. Tylonol doesnt really help a headache. It makes you psychologically think it is working, so, sub conconsciencly it makes the pain go away. Sure it says helps headaches and whatever...but thats not its main purpose. Take what is designed to get rid of it. I prefer ibuprophene because it works fast, and is a bit stronger. I could go on to what makes a headache happen, and what exactly is a headache, but that is not what you asked.
Teza answered Monday August 15 2005, 3:26 am: Okay first of all when you have headaches do not get your hair wet!! It wont make it go away and it can get you sick. You need to take a warm bath first of all. Eat and then take another pill and go take a nap. You are tired so thats why you are getting headaches. Take some ice or whatever you have thats cold and wrap it in something and put it on your head. Listen to some calming music and just rest. It will go away trust me.
