shutupnkissme98 answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 8:58 pm: the disk is probably scratched. thats probaby the reason y it keeps freezing. because sims2 does take awhile to load but if its freezing at the same point everytime and wont go past it then the disk is most likely scratched.hope i helped XoXo [ shutupnkissme98's advice column | Ask shutupnkissme98 A Question ]
xO_aLex_xO answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 2:04 am: i have the sims2- you might want to go do something else when its loading b/c it does take a while...if it continues to freeze(like after a very long time...) i would either go to sims2.com or even go back to the place you got the game from beacuse most of the time they know whats going on...
oh and if that dosnt work try installing it on the D or E drive b/c sometimes the C is all full...E works the best...and the fastest...
pretty_n_punk09 answered Tuesday August 9 2005, 3:59 pm: I might be wrong (It's either on The Sims 2 or The Sims 2: University) but you can play a game during the download and if you play the game it messes up or you might need to clean the disks. It happened to me buuuuuuuut, I fixed it and I can't remember how.....sheesh...If I think of it I'll add onto this. Try cleaning the disk for now and not playing the game.

The_MoUsY_spell_checker answered Tuesday August 9 2005, 1:34 am: Try deleting all the Sims stuff on that computer and install it again. Of course, it might be a problem with the disc (if that's the case then there isn't much you can do besides getting a new one), but if you managed to install it on your other computer that shouldn't be the case, unless you somehow damaged the disc after you installed it on the other computer.
MFS answered Tuesday August 9 2005, 12:43 am: I assume you've checked to make sure you have enough disk space, yes?
Could it be that the 3rd disc is corrupt? It happens - a CD gets burned at the factory and just contains bad data.
It could also be that at 49% - it is trying to install a component that is conflicting with something already installed on your computer. You can try shutting down all background tasks and install again to see if that gets you any further. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
