I don't want to start again I used to cut. Not going to go into details, I used to cut and once I thought I went too deep. I've since realized how stupid and dangerous I was being. However, fo whatever reason, I feel the need to do so again. I don't want to, but I'm tempted and I don't know why. Can anyone please help? Please, no jack asses sayin crap about me bein a stupid "emo" and no bad mouthing me just because of something I used to do

I used to cut too. It's a really hard thing to get over. I had to go to therapy to get over it. So you might need to go to a therapist. You don't even need to tell them about your cutting, just talk about your depression. (I'm guessing you have depression).
But try snapping a rubberband to your wrist when you want to cut. Worked for me.

get a stress ball... get a soccer ball go kick the hell out of it. hit your self with a pillow! lol talk to a friend, any thing but injuring your self! ]
honestly if you know you shouldnt cut then why do it? ..i understand that you feel the need too but there are other ways to deal with things.. although no one really likes seeing a psychiatrist maybe it would be a good idea to try it especially if you start cutting again.. its bad for you and you will only feel bad about doing it after you realize you shouldnt have.. good luck with everything ]
I fell really bad for people who cut. I really feel bad about people younger than me that cuts (I'm 17) Even my younger sister has friends who cuts (she's 13). So I really want to help. I've been wondering why people do cut. I have a theory that people cut to relieve stress. Just remember, cutting doesn't solve anything, and it only causes more problems. I have a theory. You may be tempted because your subconscious may think that this is the only way to relive stress.
However, if cutting is a way to "relieve stress" I have a few suggestioins for alternative ways to relive that stress or anger. Don't repress it. That could lead to problems also. You should find something soft to punch (like a kickbag or a pillow.) That could relive a lost of your anger. If you want to relive sorrow, you could paint, draw, or write music to express your feelings. This could help take your mind off of things and turn you emotion into something creative.

i think your trying to cut cause something that happened b4 in your life somethin like that isbotherin you again...please dont cut...i kno its tempting but wat i do is i take a rubber band put it on my wrist and wenever i feel like cutting i pull the rubberband so it hits my wrist it helps me a lot wen im mad or somethng is bothering me...hope i helped!

im not hear ta bad mouth you just ta try to help i think that your tempted to cut again because what ever was bothering you in the past is coming back into yor life .. .. if your younger you should try taking up a sport but if you a little bit older try going out doing new things with new people trust me i know from past problems if you dont learn to forget the theyll haunt you for ever

i used to cut and somtimes i still get the urge to cut and thats normal one thing i have found that helps is dont have anything around u could do it with and also whenever u get the erge write your thoughts down on paper just spill them out
and i agree i hate it when people joke around about cutting and being "emo" it really makes me mad ]
hey...i had once thought about cutting and i head this thing on the radio its like a place for people to go talk and get help and it really does help its called dmlive.com and then it gives you information on where to go....but.. back to your ?... when i was there and asked if there was any way to stop from trying...this lady told me.. when you feel the urge to cut take a sharpie and act like your cutting yourself with that and its supposed to releave you just like cutting does...hope i helped..if i didnt i think you should check that site out it really works!!!

I had a friend that cut a few years back and I don't know if this aplies to you but for her, she was using it as an outlet for her feelings she didn't have to deal with things when she cut, she was letting it all out physically. So I would say that you jsut need someone to talk to, a confidant, someone you can trust. Just tell this person things that upset you, get your emotions out.

I think that you need to vent, if you know what I mean. What you need to do is write out all of the things that bother you on one sheet of paper. On another sheet of paper, write down all the things that bother you again, then write how you can make that certain thing better. THEN on ANOTHER sheet of paper (always keep this one with you and leave the other two at home), write down everything ONCE MORE. Then, beside or under it, write how you've made it better (when you do). OR, if you don't want to do all that (but i recomend) just start a journal and let it all out. You're weak. You'll probably cut again. If you were weak enough to do it once, and you're near that now, its going to happen again.
You should realise you're weak, and realise there are other things. ]
I know a trick that people use sometimes. Put a rubberband or ponytail holder around your wrist, and everytime you feel the need to cut yourself, snap the rubberband on your wrist instead. I have heard it helps...try that to fight the urge! I hope this helps, and please try not to cut yourself...it is dangerous & hurts your body! PLease be safe & good luck! ]
