It takes a while for your period to get regular. In fact, it can take up to two years.

Your period must come at the end of the month, and stretch into the beginning. Meaning, you will get another period at the end of August. Having short/light periods at first is also normal.

Don't worry about it to much. Your body isn't actually running perfectly on calander and doesn't care what day it is. It is normal, especially for a girl who has just begun her period to have more then one in a thirty day span or even go a month without one. Your body is not on a steady cycle yet.

Bleeding during the night is normal. You have hours there for the blood to seep out, its not suprising that there was a bit.

A woman discharge often has a yellow sort of tinge to it. The last bit of blood of your period is often the oldest and deadest. It's normal for it to be a very dark red-brown colour, like dried blood.

If you are still concerned. See a doctor. There is no problem with it. Your doctor is your friend! They will make you feel better.

The notion that you should get one period a month is not really correct. The "average" number of menstrual cycles a year I don't think is even 12... it is probably closer to 10-11. I know some who get only 8 a year.

Spotting can be caused by any number of things, and can be signs of a slightly more irregular cycle, which can be caused by stress, change in diet, etc.

If you're really worried about it, talk to your doctor.
