I babysit a 6 year old too, I would ask the girl to do what she thinks is fun. If shes interested in dolls then put up something she would enjoy. I play dolls with her, even tho im 16 but hey I do what makes it interesting.
Take her for nature walks, make up a dance,go to the park and watch a movie!

Just ask her what she likes to do? and put things together. I babysit a 1 year old and a 5 year old . i used to babysit a 7 year old but she moved. and watch movies with her. Also even if you dont like to play what she plays play it with her anyway cause she might tell her parents that your a good b-bsitter and you never know what will happen. i got more money. hope i helped :-)also paint or draw with her

SoNotLegal answered Saturday August 6 2005, 6:40 pm:
Dress-up is always fun! Let her wear your clothes and she'll feel like a star (or, if you babysit her at her house, see if there are any clothes of her mom's that she can try on). You can also try board games like Candy Land and Chutes & Ladders, and card games like Go Fish and Uno. If you're allowed to leave the house, take her to a playground and see how high she can push you on the swing!
♥ Hope I helped.

Some fun things for the girl ( i dont know if you like them) are...

-board games
-dolls
-puzzles
-hide & seek
-follow the leader
-art & crafts
-watching a movie
-making up a dance
-playing school or hospital

...and many more. If you need more activites you can always buy a babysitting book that includes activities & tips. Most of these activities I got from the RED CROSS BABYSITTER'S TRAINING book.

HOPE THIS HELPS!

Ah...6 years old. Hm...try dress up and house. Make crafts for playing dress up with her like if its castles and princesses make her a little box castle. Let her help paint and decorate. Have fun!

Most six year olds like board games and dancing and just watching t.v and if your willing to spend some money you can go swimming or go to the park, aquarium, zoo or movies

These are somethings I do with the girls I babysit (they range in age from 5-8). Try playing charades with her, where you each make up your own ideas. Watch a movie that appeals to both children & adults (i.e. Shrek, Shark Tales, Harry Potter, The Pacifier, Racing Stripes etc.) You could bake cupcakes or other baked goods (make sure you ask the parents if this is okay) you could play video games if she has them, you can play school with her, you can have her draw while you read a magazine or book (or you can draw too!), you can read to her, you can take her to a movie playing in theatres/mini golfing/bowling if you drive or can walk & the parents let you. Hope this gave you some ideas! Good Luck!

When i babysit i ask them what they like to do. If she says she doesn't know then if you have a car either go to the park, or if you don't have a car go outside and play with a frizbee or play hide and seak!
