You have a better chance of drowning than getting hit by lightning. But water conducts lightning, so maybe you should just wait until the storm passes.

no it is not safe because you could get struck by lighting because of the light waves will transfer through the water and cause you to get shocked! please rate me!

You'll be fine. You have a better chance of drowning in the tub then lightning striking your house.

There are lots of 'rules' about thunderstorms, like turn off appliances and stay away from windows. And what do we do? We whatch the TV for weather updates, and stand by the windows watching the storm. Serioulsly, I wouldn't worry about it.

Xo_Ashie_oX answered Thursday August 4 2005, 12:50 pm:
people say it is and people say it isnt.. i suggest no though... bc most likely your water pipes are underground, and come out of the ground at one point... if lighting were to hit one of those pipes... it would (w/o a doubt) electricute you... and ishhh... youd probably die!! and it also depends how far away the lighting is.. have you ever done the light to bang thory?? its (ithink) where you count the amount of seconds between the thunder and lighting (or vise versa... you might have to look it up) but you count the amount of seconds between it.. and i belive each second stands for every mile away it is... so wait until it gets from about 25-30 miles away before you think about playin in your bathtub...so i just suggest stayin outa the tub til its <(almost)> over... just a precaution...

Nope, not at all. Water conducts lightning. Wait until the storm is over, then you can have a bath.
