hey!...Don't worry, I know exactly how you are feeling. I wasn't very thrilled to get braces either. Well, the whole thing takes about an hour. It doesn't hurt while they are putting them on, but it is a little uncomfortable. After you are done it is really weird the first week and you might want to rip them out (but please don't haha)
The painfactor..well it does hurt the first couple of days (especially when eating) but ibuprofen (motrin) helps alot!

i got braces about a year ago and it doesn't hurt when you get them on. basically they just put the special cement stuff (it tastes REALLY bad) on your teeth then put braces on. and for some people put a bar on the top of your mouth. a heads up though they are really sore until up to a about a week after. good luck!

omgosh i just got braces and to tell you the truth it doesnt hurt wen you get them not at all but thats wen they're puttin them on. afterwards they feel weird and then they start to hurt (the pain may last a few days) and its hard to eat so eat soft foods. and then later on you can hardly tell u hav them :) (ive only had them for 6 days)

braces don't hurt at all. trust me, i've had them put on and taken off twice lol. there's nothing painful about them. although, you do have to keep your mouth open for a little while, but that's not too stressful lol. i hope i helped you feel more confident about this!!

They may get irritated the first week or so. They give you wax to put on your braces if it gets unbearable. The process of braces depends on your teeth. If you like have buck teeth, it may take a few years. You'll be fine. Good luck! Hope I helped!

I used to have braces and when I got them on I was scared too. It doesn't really... hurt... the worst that it gives you is maybe a headache. In that case I suggest that you take some sort of tylenol before you go. That way you wont have to deal with a headache IF you get one. My friend got braces the other day and she said it didn't hurt at all until the next morning she had a headache. Even if it doesnt hurt too bad.. I would keep up with the tylenol for a little while. Also you might wake up in the morning with sore inside of your lips where your braces were pressing against- So if they give you wax, I would wear it

i was scared to a little. but ok this is wut happened to me ((as much as i can member)):
1. they just brushed my teeth
2. put my molar caps on ((doesnt hurt at all-if nething its the worst part nd it doesnt hurt))
((dont member but kinda. . .))
3. they put this weirdo light think on each tooth. you have to wear like special goggles for it, that apply stuff u dont feel to each tooth so that the braces stick
4. they apply the brackets
5. you pick colors
6. they put in the wire
7. yur on yur way to a perfect smile
the whole thing takes about an hour, hour and a half!

it doesnt hurt when they put them on i just got them on for the 3rd time last week...it hurts a little bit after an hour or so, so just take some advil or tylenol. um..they put these cheek puller things on..they put nasty tasting stuff on your teeth to condition them and the glue tastes bad too..so keep your tongue outta the way. um...they will either put ur braces on 1 by 1 or they will use a tray type thing. well thats a bout it so good luck and hope this helps!

doesnt really hurt while they put it on..but keep your tounge outta the way! the paste glue stuff they put on your teeth to make the bracket stick is absolutly disgusting! and they put like cheek seperaters in your mouth to widen your mouth and those might hurt..so make sure you dont have chapped lips or something..hope i helped! oh and like right before you get em on take advil or tylenol cuz that will help the pain after cuz by the time they're done putting them on the tylenol or advil will of hopefully of kicked in by then!

ive had braces for 2 and a half years. it doesnt hurt to get them on. the stuff may taste bad but ya get to rinse it out. your teeth might hurt a bit so you might live off of ice cream or something soft for a while but take tylonel and all is better....and chew gum. chewing gum actaully helps just dont get caught. but you will do fabulous so dont worry.

Don't worry. I have braces too. It doesn't really hurt that much. Not that I remember. It just tastes kinda bad...because of the glue they use. But they let you brush your teeth after they are about half way done so the taste goes away. And the pain doesnt really occur while getting them on, or they day you get them. It usually hurts for a few days after. Start out by drinking milkshakes, or eating really soft foods, like mashed potatoes (never a bad thing :P) Then gradually start to eat solid foods again so that your mouth will heal quicker. Don't worry to much, just think of how gorgeous your smile will be when its all over :)

aww sweety dont worry when they put the braces on it doesnt hurt but when they put the metal bands on its a little pressure
its going to hurt for like a week but the pain will go away
so dont worry and dont be scared

no it doesnt hurt at first just eat soup for the first week. everything will b fine. Iknow, i had them. the first week is the worst and its not that bad. hope i helped

they will hurt like the first 1-2 days, but after that they dont! juyst make sure to follow all the rules and you could get them off early!
