ok im on like my third peorid and i wanna use a tapon i hate pads ther so nasty and they feel like a diper um so can someone tell me the best brands for tapons and like how do you get TSS? welll thx

Ok that's a good question..i happen to really like tampax pearl or playtex gentleglide! Whatever you get, it's best to get one with a plastic applicator because they'r emore comfortable. TSS is so rare but you can get it from leaving your tampon in for too long! Hint* when using a tampon try to use the smallest absorbency possible..if you need a super than use it but if you dont really need it than dont use it. Hope i helped x0x *caitie*

You can get TSS from any tampon. It has something to do with how the tampon is made or something.. but the info is on the box because they HAVE to include stuff about it. I use Kotex regular. The bigger tampon you get the more risk for getting TSS.

To set your mind at ease the most common reason women get TSS is by putting in a tampon and forgetting it is there. I am not kidding, you would be surprised. So, that being said it is okay to sleep with one...just remember to remove it in the morning. You will figure out how often to change it as you get used to what your period is like.
I don't think one tampon is much different from another. When you find one you like stick with it. :)

Tampons with a rounded plastic applicator and and a slimfit will be best to start out with. Tampax Pearl, Tampax Satin Teen, Playtex Gentle Glide and Playtex Slimfits are all good. I personally prefer Playtex but that's just me.
TSS or toxic shock syndrome is generally caused when a normal body bacteria gets out of hand. You can lower your chances of TSS by washing your hands before and after inserting a tampon, using the lightest absorbency tampon possible, and wearing tampons for short periods of time (You can wear them up to 8 hours, but 4-6 hours is really best.), and alternating tampon use with pads.

hey well i hate pads to, so i started to use tampons to...i've used probobly about 5 or 6 brands but my favorite one has to be pearl. You can get them scented to...there the best! Also if it helps, when you put your tampon in, dont put it straight up slant it just a little bit and it feels ALOT more comfortable!

i use tampax compact and i love em...because you can also go on beinggirl.com and get a carrying case for them to stick in your purse or something.
TSS is when you leave a tampon in for too long with the wrong absorbency. i have had TSS before twice to be exact, so make sure you change it and dont get lazy.
The type of TSS associated with tampon use is caused by a toxin producing strain of the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus that's commonly found on the skin, in the nose, armpit, groin or vagina. Like other types of bacteria, a person could "carry" these bacteria without problems. The majority of people have a built-in ability to fight TSS, but some don't.
You can reduce your risk of getting TSS during your period by using the tampon with the lowest absorbency for your flow, and alternating tampon use with pads during a 24-hour time period.

Tampax is definitely a good brand for tampons. As for Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), you get it by the improper use of tampons.
