XxSunshinexX answered Friday July 22 2005, 9:05 am: okay, well if you look at some of my other questions i have answered in my collumn it has answers that willl work with loosing weight. Being popular just makes people hate you. Becuase usually they are jealous of you then. But, if people dont realize how great you are even if you are overweight then they have some issues they need to get over themselves. Just be yourslef and be an individual. DOnt try and blend in with everyone else. Becuase if you are yourself, then maybe other people will start being themselves too, and then people wouldnt have different groups hope i helped and give some feedback!!! ncblondie answered Friday July 22 2005, 7:22 am: The common response to your question has been you don't have to be skinny to be popular and I agree. People tend to like confident, happy, friendly people. Work on your confidence, smile a lot, and be a good friend.
If you want to lose weight, you need to watch your diet and add a little exercise.
For your diet, try cutting down on calories. Even something as small as just refusing dessert will start showing results after a while if you consistently turn it down. Try eating a tomato sauce with your pasta instead of a cream sauce. Instead of a meat lovers pizza, try a veggie pizza.
Drink LOTS of water. Lay off the sodas and juices since they're full of sugar. Add lots of low-fat dairy to your diet. Studies show that diets high in dairy have maximum weight loss and the weight usually stays off.
Cut down on carbohydrates (breads, pastas) or simply substitute them for healthier versions (whole grain bread, wild or brown rice, etc). Switch to leaner proteins such as chicken, turkey, fish, etc.
Eat foods with high water content such as cucumber, celery, and tomato. Add lots of negative calorie foods to your diet. These foods burn more calories digesting than they have in them making them a dieter's best friend. They include apples, asparagus, berries, broccoli, cucumber, celery, zucchini, etc. You can do a google for a more complete list.
Try to avoid foods that are fried since they're full of fat and calories.
Don't starve yourself or deny yourself treats. If you do, you will get tired of the diet. Give yourself one meal a week that you can have what you want, within reason. Knowing that every Saturday night you can splurge a little will help make the dieting through the rest of the week easier.
Try cutting down on your portions and never go back for seconds unless it's veggies.
If preparing your own meals is a pain, there are several ready-made diet meals on the market. These meals are formulated to give you the most vitamins and minerals with low calories. You just pop them in the microwave for a few minutes and you're ready to sit down to a healthy meal without worrying about portions or calories. Personally I've found Lean Cuisines and Michelina's Lean Gourmet are better since the others tend to be bland. Try for yourself to see which ones you like best. Try Lean Pockets. They taste great, are wonderful if you're on the run, and don't have a lot of calories.
As for exercise, you burn a lot more calories that you think with just daily activities such as showering, walking to your neighbors house, doing the dishes, doing laundry, even sleeping. There's a great calorie counter at the following site which allows you to put in your daily activies and how long you spend doing them. It then takes your information and calculates the calories burned.
Mackenzie answered Friday July 22 2005, 2:39 am: You don't HAVE TO be 'thin' to be popular. Just be friendly, be talkative, and mind your manners. Smile often too, as smiles are definitely noticed!! It's not about being the prettiest, or the one with the most expensive clothes, it's about having CONFIDENCE!! Confidence is sexy, and confidence shows. Just believe in yourself, and appreciate who you are. I'm shore people around you will pick up on this and gravitate towards you. :) [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
tasuki answered Friday July 22 2005, 2:08 am: Um...poul? Well if you want to lose weight cut down on junk food and exericise more. It's hard but you gotta do it, and if you can't then you don't really want to lose weight with all your heart and soul now do you? No, you don't. So you gotta keep at it! But it might not work, because it's possible to be genetically fat! And I still don't know what poul means! But that's okay! Best of luck to you!! [ tasuki's advice column | Ask tasuki A Question ]

Dear Satan,
I am a sad and confused child who wants nothing more than to be skinny and popular, like the aryan race! I would ask Hitler to make me superior to everyone else - except a class which is equal to myself. But regretfully Hitler is dead.
I am willing to barter with you, this will be worth your time. See, to be popular I also have to give up my soul - and you can be the owner of this soul, if you make my wishes come true. Its one pure soul of a moronic child infactuated with popularity!

It wouldn't be so hard to lose weight if you didn't waste your time on the computer, like typing this question.
If you want an effective plan to lose weight, why not seek a professional? A dietitian, a nutritionist, anybody with a valid license to guide you.
Although I am neither, I can offer a bit of assistance.
First off, eat right. By simply cutting 500 calories from your diet everyday, you can lose 2 pounds in a week. How that is, a pound of fat contains 3500 calories. Do the math.
Second, exercise at least 3 days out of the week for at least 30 minutes each session. For better and quicker results, combine cardio and toning exercises.
Third, drink a lot of water to supress your appetite. It's also good for your skin, hair, nails, etc.
