The Dark Mark is the tattoo type thing Lord Voldermort burned into the forarm of all the Death Eaters, so that when ever he touches anyone's mark, all of his Death Eaters are supposed to Apperate to him imediately. Also, the Mark had faded away when he first lost power, but had been steadily getting clearer on the arms of his followers as he was coming back.
Sporkster answered Tuesday July 19 2005, 10:15 pm: If you really did read books 1-5, you would know what the dark mark is. I'm sorry, but you must've not read the fourth book at all. Go back and read the Goblet of Fire.
If you don't want to go back and read GoF, then may I suggest searching for "the dark mark" on Google? You can find ALOT of info on that. Lots of Harry Potter fans, you know? :)
tasuki answered Tuesday July 19 2005, 9:46 pm: Hehe. It's Voldemort's symbol. He burns it into the flesh of his followers and uses it to summon them when he needs them. He also fires it into the sky above any house that he just killed all the people in. Go ahead, ask me another one, I know everything about Harry Potter.
