for school you should get side banges a little longer than your eyebrows, just get a trim and grow your hair long, dont get it angled or layered cuz it will make your hair look thicker, then you should straiten your hair for school everyday and use paul mitchels straitening syrem because it makes your hair more strait and your hair does not look dry from straitening it.

My hair used to be the same way.. it'd always poof and stuff. But now I just bought a hair straightner and it works really good. My hair isn't poofy or anything anymore. But if you don't wnat it like pin straight, then just straighten it a little so then it seems a little fuller which is a cute style. Or just pull your hair half-way back or do your hair in a cute little bun thing whenever you decide to pull it up. And whenever you use a hair-dryer, if you have it on fast heat, then the air's blowing on your hair so hard, it's poofing out, so try using a gentle but hard wind so it still drys it good, but it's not messing your hair up. I hope I helped!!

MELii

Wow, definatley sounds like a hair dilemaaa!! haha. Alright first of all, if you're willing to get it cut/trimmed. Ask for longggg layers. this will make you're hair appear lesss thick. And then when its wet, and you go to blow dry it.. take the blow dryer and face it downward from the top. This will make it straight rather than poofy. Dont ever let it air dry because even if you have thin hair, it will poof outtt !! And instead of brushing it, try using a comb =)

..goodluck hope i helped

omgosh i had the same problem! my hair is extremely thick and curly! okay so i got a chi! i kno there expensive but save up your money b/c its definantly worth it! and even if u have thick hair the straightener works wonders! oh and to help keep down frizz shower with cold water! it seriously works! getting your hair thinned out helps too! get some straightening mousse ((pro-v has one that i use)) and blow dry, then straighten! if your hair's curly, let it curl and put gel and mousse in it! who cares if its big, it'll look cute with those curls!

curliecue answered Sunday July 17 2005, 4:19 pm:
Here are some tips...

1: Go to a hair stylist and get it thinned out.
2: Do not blow dry.
3: (if curly) use a curling gel and let it air dry overnight.
4: (if straight) use a straightener to remove the waves and then brush-- your hair will be thinner by then.
5: Buy some cool clips and stuff that are different so that people will notice. I did that and all my friends (and even if they weren't my friends) said " where'd you get that?"

Hope this helps and good luck with your hair!

BumbleBee035 answered Sunday July 17 2005, 3:32 pm:
I'd try a straightener. I have one and I love it.
My hair is thick too, so I'd get it face-framed and have layers added to make the thickness a little less thick.

hey i have very think hair too and i have the same problem..my hair gets poofy and wavy..okay what i did was instead of getting a straightner cause they don't work very well on my hair is i went and bought a perm kit and i used everything but the perm rods. my hair came out great and it's straight now..you can also do things like have someone braid your hair if you totally want it to look different dye your hair or maybe get highlights..i love to experiment with my (i've done many things with it including dying it.) hope i helped..but that's just what i'd do.

good luck <33

You should consider using a CERAMIC straightener. They work really well for curly hair. Also silkysexyhair products work well for frizz (available in hair salons).

babiigurl076 answered Sunday July 17 2005, 3:03 pm:
I used to do the same thing, my hair would always frizz out no matter what I did. I'd recommend using Dove shampoo/conditioner and also buy the Dove Smooth& Soft Anti- Frizz cream. I use that every day after I wash my hair, and then I dry my hair& straighten it. If you have straight hair, straightening it helps with the frizz, it's not all that great for you hair, but it won't poof out nearly as much. Hope I helped!
