chadilac answered Sunday July 17 2005, 12:33 am: paraniod (or paranioa) is a condition where your...well...freaking out about things, and are worried about things happening (and such)
insomnia is where you cant sleep, or dont sleep much at all.
some time though, they might have a connection. you might be an insomniac because of your paranoya. maybe being afriad of the dark. it depends. [ chadilac's advice column | Ask chadilac A Question ]

sweetjewel answered Friday July 15 2005, 10:45 am: there is no connection between being paranoid and insomniac unless your paranoid about sleeping but i doubt that so there is no connection [ sweetjewel's advice column | Ask sweetjewel A Question ]
VixenDark answered Friday July 15 2005, 8:01 am: Probably.
Maybe you should try a new sleeping place. Lock the door, whatever makes you feel secure. Then, just curl up, and daydream til you fall asleep. [ VixenDark's advice column | Ask VixenDark A Question ]
linksys answered Friday July 15 2005, 5:32 am: Try this:
Sleep with as many blankets as it takes to feel heavy.
Lay on your back and not your stomach (this will expose your back which could make you feel vulnerable).
Close your closet door (or keep it open, which ever makes you feel more comfortable).
Sleep with your door open a bit and a hallway light on for a couple days.
Get a night light or keep your desk lamp on for a couple days.
Try sleeping pills, warm milk, or a hot bath before bed.
Cover your head with your blankets (make sure you leave a space so you can breath).
Close your window.
Basically try to get rid of whatever is making you feel nervous, uncomfortable, or in danger. If you sleep in a way that makes you feel comfortable and safe then you can gradually stop doing a few of theses things. Eventually you will be bale to sleep normally. Stay away from scary movies or t-v shows. [ linksys's advice column | Ask linksys A Question ]
Mackenzie answered Friday July 15 2005, 4:21 am: There could be?? Why do you feel paranoid? Are you nervous about something SPECIFIC? I know sometimes I think of 'bad things' so frequently, that I'm scared to death to sleep. I'll end up staying up for four days, until I can take it no more.. and pass out. Maybe you could try sleeping pills?? I dunno.. if you're really worried about it, perhaps you should consult your physician. :) [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
hErEtoheLp answered Friday July 15 2005, 4:21 am: I definatly think there is. Just recently I stayed up for nearly three days without a wink of sleep. It got so bad that I was actually scared to try and sleep because I thought if I did I wasn't going to wake up. There's a good possibilty that paranoia can come out of lack of sleep. Nyx answered Friday July 15 2005, 3:44 am: There very well might be a connection. I remember when I was a kid, I was paranoid that spiders were in my bed with me. I was unable to get to sleep for hours and hours, jumping up every 5 to ten minutes to switch on the light and check the sheets.
If you are paranoid that someone might break in, or that there are bugs in your bed, or that the house might catch on fire then chances are the two are interlinked. When you try to go to sleep, do you just lay in bed thinking and dwelling on the things you're paranoid about? If so, then yes, the two are interlinked.
Everyone needs sleep. You should probably make an appointment with a therapist, who might be able to help you.

MADiiNUhxBAYBii answered Friday July 15 2005, 3:18 am: yeah i think there is a connection, you have insomnia which leds you to being paranoid, lol jp. try thinking of blue or white nd let it drift you off to sleep. whenever i cant sleep i think of either pink, blue or white. dont think of any patterns just the color see where it takes you and if you fall asleep faster.
poa answered Friday July 15 2005, 1:10 am: You can draw that conclusion yourself. Why aren't you sleeping? If your insomnia is connected to paranoia, take some sleeping pills. The only way they are connected is if you are too paranoid of the things going on in the outside that you can't sleep. And taking the pills will basically leave you no choice.
You just need to get over it and realize that even if you are awake and ready, theres still probably nothing you can do about the problem anyway.
