try scraping up the excess and using 409 to
clean the rest. If it still leaves a bleach mark than your carpet isn't
colorfast and there's not much you can do. I'd recommend changing your son's
toothpaste to a basic brand without all the fancy stuff in it, and call a
carpet installer or cleaner to see about dying the bleach marks already
there and setting the color with chemicals.

hope this helps!

Typically, when you need to clean something tough, use chemicals that would kill you if you drank them. Ammonia, bleach, (but NEVER together, bad chemical reactions happen), ultra strong cleaning solutions, and so on.

You could try taking water and soap and washing the spot where the toothpaste is. Try that! If it doesn't work use some Mr.Clean or some cleaning spray. I'm sure something like that will take the toothpaste out of your carpet.
