I was working on Friday night with this guy, and he was sick the whole night, he shouldn't have even been at work but my boss wouldn't let him leave. So, it turns out he has mono. And I remember I accidently drank one of his drinks that night, and I'm really worried that I'm going to get it. How long does mono normally take to set it, and what are the symptoms?
HckyAg89 answered Thursday July 7 2005, 1:22 am: I absolutly HATED mono, i had it in the summer of 6th grade (a long long time ago), and the symptoms set in on me about 2 weeks after. Go to your doctor right away, because if you can catch it in early stages, your recovery will be much better, because i caught mono late, and i was out of hockey (and all other contact sports i play) for 3 months. Thats the bad side, the good side is that you diddnt drink out of the same spot on the cup. Best of luck, Hope i helped! [ HckyAg89's advice column | Ask HckyAg89 A Question ]

It`s pretty much the symptoms of the flu. Mono takes different times to set for different people, but just watch out and stay rested since you are at very high risk. If you do get the symptoms, go immediately to the doctor. Unfortunately to say, mono lasts anywhere from like a month - a few months :-/ Hope I`ve Helped ♥ [ xOtWiXi's advice column | Ask xOtWiXi A Question ]
S_C answered Monday July 4 2005, 3:13 pm: Mono is THE WORST!! My friend got it, another friends drank off of her and got it, I drank off of that friend, got a horrible case of Strep, my doctor said if I had been really tired and stuff then I would've definitley had mono. But we all drank off of each other, not knowing we were sick, and we ended up spreading mono and strep around the school. Also most of us already missed a lot of school and at our school if you miss more than 13 days you automatically fail the class(es), so we couldn't stay home. Anyway, you're throat hurts, it's practically impossible to swallow, you're tired ALL THE TIME, it's just aweful. You do get a lot of flu-like symptoms, but really if you wanna know the rest just google it. Good luck! And yes, you probably will get it, and it takes only a few days to kick in. If it has been over a week and you still don't get it, chances are slim, but since it's only been about 3 days, you still have that chance. Good luck, hope ya don't get it, but what were you doing drinkin after someone you knew was sick?!?! Crazy haha, okay, well I'm done now. <3 always, Kate [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
