Dresser Coordination

Question Posted Saturday July 2 2005, 5:10 am

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should co-ordinate my dresser? It has a mirror, and three medium size drawers [in a column]. I have a lot of products and make up and stuff, yet I also have a lot of clutter and hats and jewelry I dont need. I dont really know how to organise my stuff, and I'm just wondering how everyone else does it for some inspiration. The three drawers could be used for more useful things yet they are filled with junk. I dont know what to put on the dresser, and what to put in the drawers. Also, would it be a good idea to buy a shelf of some sorts?

Thanks.

I think my dresser is much small than the one most people have in mind. Its small. No space for clothes and such. .

I do cleaning for the elderly and this one in particular puts her perfume and tiny stuff in a shoe box on her dresser so I don't have to move every little piece to clean underneath. I find this very helpful I hope you do too.

You can organize it by stacking them. or color, or by size or both.

so pick out a day to do a dresser cleaning day and bring a trash bag and a box

so one by one, throw them away if you dont need them or if they are old or etc.

and if you think you want them or if you will use them later or if they are important. etc...

so if you are done with that, then sort them by ... jewelry, make up, etc . how ever you want to sort them.

and now for the organizing part.

you can stack them or put them by color or how you want to sort them, so it will be easier to find stuff.

and you should buy a cabinet or stuff if you dont have place to put clothes.

and you can fold them so it wiil take up less space.

hope i helped ~

1. i would take out everything
2. throw away things you don't
3. get baskets or cute boxes and divide them
4. 1 for makeup, another one for hair, another one for pefume and etc.

Shelves are great for hats. I have one that runs the entire length of one side of my room. I make myself a promise not to own more hats then fit on it!

I think you should throw out the stuff you don't want first. I use little tuberware constainers to store my makeup (cause you can clean em easy) and those deviders you use for silverware are great for necklaces and braclets.

Get a pretty little container for the top of your dresser too, and put your very favorite things in it (deoderant, favorite lipstick ect.)

Then you just have to clean up every once and a while to maintain it!

Good Luck!

you should first empty EVERYTHING outof your dresser and go through it to see what you want and dont want. for your first drawer, you could by a divider to seperate your make-up and hair stuff and jewerly or buy some containers to put the stuff in. in the second drawer you could put any clothes in, in any order. in the third drawer you could put your pants with hats and belts on the side, if theres room.
