Mackenzie answered Saturday June 25 2005, 4:12 pm: Yep, lemon juice and PeRoxide. It REALLY woRks, you just mix them togetheR. Then dip youR comb in the mixtuRe, and bRush it thRough youR haiR. then lay out in the sun foR a bit. You may not see Results the fiRst time. It may take a week oR two of daily sessions to get a good Result. I say you'Re best off puRchasing a kit fRom the stoRe though. Hope I helped? haha :D [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]

My friend uses it and it works good. All you do is spray it on wet hair and then when your laying out in the sun it highlights it. Or you can put beer in your hair. You just pour it in your hair and then rinse it out and it should highlight a bit.

But there are things you can do that supposedly bring out your natural hi-lights. I have brown hair, so to make it shiny, I mix a cup of cider vinegar, a cup of water, and rosemary and boil it all together and put in in my hair after I'm done shampooing. It works...kind of. there's this other one for blond/strawberry blond/redhead/whatever, but I don't have it right now. If you want that kind of stuff, there's this Klutz book called "The Body Book" by Anne Ackers Johnson. [ TheHeadHonchoPoncho57's advice column | Ask TheHeadHonchoPoncho57 A Question ]

well i've highlighted my own hair before and it came out cute, but I did have to go out and buy the hair dye for it. If you're really good at dying you don't have to go out and buy the cap and everything but you do have to buy the hair dye! =D Anything else you're thinking of dying your hair with i don't think will come out too good..
LisaLeilani answered Thursday June 23 2005, 10:30 pm: ok so here are some sights i dont know who to do them the right way soo you will have to copy and paste ...srry lol
xxurockxx answered Thursday June 23 2005, 10:26 pm: honestly, i wouldnt try it!!!! if you use peroxide you are most likely going to have it in one side longer than the other and have your hair a LOT lighter on one side than the other (the darker side may even be orangish yellowish)!!
save your time, money, and embarassment!!! go to a salon and get it done!!! hair color experts is always an excellent way to go!! if not try a local beauty school for about $25 and ask the teacher who the best in the class is at highlights!!! YOU WONT REGRET SPENDING THE EXTRA MONEY!!!!! [ xxurockxx's advice column | Ask xxurockxx A Question ]

stalkingroxy911 answered Thursday June 23 2005, 10:15 pm: doing highlight on your own is really hard, my mom does it all the time though, but shh it doesnt look all that great. lol anyways what i would do first is get the color that washes out first so then if you mess up it will wash out in a couple of days and when you do do it for real you will know more about techinque (sp?) and stuff like that.
