Babies immune systems are basically undeveloped when they first come out, that's why children get sick so much. They have to get sick in order to "jump start" their immune system. Eventually their immune system starts to take over and takes care of the sickness before it affects their body.
So, a healthy person that kisses a baby's cheek or whatnot, will expose the baby to things that they haven't been exposed to before. As long as those things don't harm the baby (that's why the person should be healthy)
But, since the baby is being exposed to new thigns, their immune system will get used to handling those new things for the future.
