distinguishable answered Monday June 20 2005, 5:44 pm: Hey! Asian hair is soo pretty when it's curled. If you can, you can go get your hair done at some cheap place like the Beauty College or something. They'll put your hair in hot rollers for a little while, and then put you under the hairdrier. (You know, the thing that looks like a mushroom on your head? lol) If not, it may be hard to try to do that at home, but if you're good with hair, you can always try the hot rollers yourself. They sell them everywhere. (Walmart) My friend is Asian too, and she put in "dark blonde highlights", and it looked very cute, so you may went to tell your hairdresser that! xxurockxx answered Monday June 20 2005, 1:24 pm: if you want to go lighter do not do it yourself...it is very hard for very dark hair to get lighter. Hair color in drugstores have metallic dyes in them which are TERRIBLE on your hair. Always get it done professionally....even if it is at your nearest beauty school (they are always a lot cheaper than salons if you dont have a lot of money). i would try getting a lot of copper highlights so that it really lightens your hair and if you like it then wait about 6 weeks and get the all over color. for the curls, i wouldn't get a perm, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE GETTING IT COLORED. if you perm and color your hair too near to eachother your hair will be fried and totally damaged. also perms are very ugly as they are growing out because the top half of your hair will be straight and the bottom half will be curly. I suggest either hot rollers or a big curling iron. also, after any chemical services, it is always smart to get a cholesterol treatment done to your hair to make it feel better. Helpful answered Sunday June 19 2005, 10:52 pm: I think that with the hair color, just keep it looking natural. Copper would be fine if it was dark. that way, you would look like you were out in the sun. And the big curls,... have you tried getting a perm? It doesn't work w/ my hair, but it's really thick... Otherwise, You'll have to use a big curling iron. You could try blow-drying your hair from underneath, not above... [ Helpful's advice column | Ask Helpful A Question ]
kooka-burra answered Sunday June 19 2005, 9:54 pm: Well I would think dying your hair a lighter brown would be nice. Just look in your nearest drugmart and find a nice light brown.
If you want big curls then I would go for a hair curler. You can find those at your drug store too.
