Ok, i'm 15 years old and i've had my period for about two years. It's VERY irregular. I'll skip two months and then get it, and crazy stuff like that. It's never the same time of the month either.. not that i can really remember since there is so much time between periods. I'm 5'6 and i weigh 105. I'm skinny and some websites say im underweight and to go to a doctor. I eat though! I just have a fast metabolism and exercise. Do you think it's because of my weight? Does that sound unhealthy? Why is my period SO irregular STILL after two years? haha thanks.
Ronlina answered Friday June 10 2005, 3:25 pm: I've had a very irregular period my whole life - this is usually natural. If you feel it's a problem, going to your doctor to check it out is a good idea. That shouldn't have much to do with your weight
Now, your diet is a different story. While it may not be causing irregular periods, changing your diet may help a little. You do seem to be on the underweight side, but if you eat full meals and get a good dose of veggies, fruits and lots of grains, you're healthy, so don't worry about it. My brother does take protien shakes for his fast metabolism, but really it only effects muscle mass coupled with exercise (which will make you weight more) - but if you feel healthy, most likely you are healthy, and don't have to change a thing just because society tells you to. x_mystery answered Friday June 10 2005, 10:42 am: Well, its normal for your period to be very irregular the first few years. But it does sound like you are slightly underweight, and that could be one of the underlying causes of you having an irregular period. I suggest you go to a regular doctor first, and she may put you on an eating plan to help you gain some weight, or she might say you're fine. Either way, I think going to a doctor is the best way to go. Hope I helped! ♥ [ x_mystery's advice column | Ask x_mystery A Question ]
cailoisa answered Friday June 10 2005, 9:51 am: I got my period when I was 13, and it was very irregular until I got on birth control...5 years later. Mine had no pattern at all. I'd be without it for 2 weeks to 3 months. And then I would have it for 2 to 20 days. Like I say, nothing fixed it until I got on birth control. [ cailoisa's advice column | Ask cailoisa A Question ]
SexyBeef answered Friday June 10 2005, 2:54 am: Sometimes it's not considered irregular or unusual, even though that may be hard to believe, but in any case you should really consult a physician. It could be normal for you. My sister does pretty much the same thing with her period, and for her it's normal. [ SexyBeef's advice column | Ask SexyBeef A Question ]
