My mother has forced me to go see a shrink as well. I hate them, but they can help. Explain the way you feel to your mother, and maybe she'll reconsider. Probably not, though. Take advantage of this opportunity to help yourself.

As moms can be persistent, lets just say the situation turns out as always -- the mother WINS. So if your mom absolutely forces you to go, see it to your opportunity. I used to DESPISE this lady my mom made me go to and I hated her for it. Now, I go to a new therapist whos like practically a good friend, lets me curse out whoever and whatever I want and just stays patient. On the other hand, I cant call my mom things to her face or call anyone names around her. Don't let your mom know you don't want to go. Act like you confide in this person more than her it will piss her off and make you stop going. Tell her there so much more fun to talk to than her. Then you can stop going.

Ok, you need to calm down. There is nothing wrong with shrinks. I don't why you have to judge them so quickly and automatically hate them. You havn't given them a chance. Sure, you went in the past, but you walked in with a bad thought on it. You need to just go in and try talking to them, its definetly not going to kill you to at least try letting your feelings out to somebody. I'm going to tell you that I never really got along with my mom, and she never listened to what I had to say. So, she'd come in and talk with me and my shrink, and she'd have to listen. You have no reason to hate them, "I just hate them", isn't a reason. Since your mom is making you go, let something good come out of it by just giving them a chance.

[Then no columnists should be responsible for your lack of describing your "bad" past with a shrink]

As do I!! Well try talking it out with your mom. Instead of going to a shrink you could right in a journal or something that would let your feelings out without seeing a professional.

Like just tell the shrink that you dont want to tlak about anything and like just sit there until your time is up! That way u dont have to do anything. Or tell ur mom that you really dont want to do this and that you'll just talk to her about it! Hope i helped!
