I too live in Massachusetts. I think you should wait a year or so and see what subject interests you the most. When youre certain, or at least firm on the idea, talk to your parents. Say "This is what I want to do. Where and how could I go about pursuing my future in this area?" If they care enough, they will actually help you. Tell them you want to be prepared and plan ahead for yourself. Theres nothing wrong with that. The only problem is that you may not feel the same way about the subject when youre closer to going to college. For now, plan on attending a college where your options are open and can be expanded. When you figure out what you want to do, and swear youll live by that decision, then do a google search for colleges for people who want to major in that certain field. I hope you helped. Good luck!

star_wars_cali_girl answered Monday June 6 2005, 7:30 pm: Acting is a great career to go into. I'm 14 and I've been really busy getting into my acting career. There are lots of different types of acting styles and ways of acting. Plus, you can do voice overs if you don't want to be on camera. Just my opinion. Hope it helped!! icey0990 answered Monday June 6 2005, 4:55 pm: first of all i think its really great that you want to get an early start...im in 10th grade and trust me it seemed like yesterday i was in 7th grade! my advice is to go onto ask.com and other search engines to find more info...you can also type in college scholorships into a search engine like ask.com and there might be some scholorships you can apply for...although i didnt see many for people your age..more scholorships will be available to you as you get older.
i did some research and found these websites..copy and paste these into where you type in your websites
i would say this is the best one...just complete the information on the bottom and you will get a bunch of college info from colleges all around the country..i signed up for a college mailing list...and trust me its so great! you get a ton of information in the mail..
calamityz answered Monday June 6 2005, 4:52 pm: Great job for planing ahead, you must be every parents dream child! I now live in an area where the pressure for college is huge and so people planing in 7th grade and working till they drop for school grade is the norm. The best thing you can do for yourself (not just college applications) is find out if you truly enjoy working in that field. YOu love english? Join a school newspaper and write (even if its for yourself). Try to get short stories published when you are a bit older (magazines love that stuff) and maybe even intern somwhere. English is just one example, bue I think that whatever you love, pursue it and find your niche. I strongly recommend in state schools because they are cheaper and the huge (15 years worth of ) debt is just not worth it. If you are lucky enough not to have to worry about money then have your reach schools (for you it may be Duke or Stanford) your range schools (generally in state schools that you proably will get into) and your safety's (community colleges and other state schools that you definately will get into). Remember to do community service and one other thing (a sport, an extra intrest) out side of school. Colleges love it. Good luck!!! Most importantly though, remember to enjoy high school (you only get to survive it once....). [ calamityz's advice column | Ask calamityz A Question ]
