hailebop answered Sunday June 5 2005, 6:36 am: Only a doctor can actually diagnose you with an eating disorder, but it sounds like you do have grounds to be concerned. The first stage of recovery however is realising that your behaviour is worrying and damaging, and moving forward to seek help, and it looks like, although you very much feel the drive to loose more weight, you also don't want to be anorexic, which is a good sign.
Anorexia isn't being a particular weight, it's about the mental state that drives you to keep on loosing weight beyond a healthy level. Given that you seem to have that, you should see medical advice. Recovery from eating disorders is difficult, as the feeling of control that you get from rigiourously controlling what you eat can be addictive. When you struggle, try to remember that although you feel a rush from being in control of what you eat, if you have an eating disorder than its the eating disorder that's in fact controlling you.
Do see a doctor and be honest with them about your habbits and why you are concerned, as the longer you prolong treatment the harder it will be for you pscyhologically to stop. All the best. [ hailebop's advice column | Ask hailebop A Question ]
icyhotness12 answered Saturday June 4 2005, 12:32 pm: hi. anorexia is a disorder, but its not like you cant control it. you can control it. i am very thin because of genes, and many people think i am anorexic. if you think you have it tho, you should go to a doctor. sice you dont like to eat, you should try finding something you like, and eat it bit by bit. i am obsessed too. i cant stop eating. tell yourself that gaining some weight would be better. most of it would be muscle, so you cant really say its all fat, because its not. muscle ways more than fat. take my word for it, you can take the upper hand, and i hope you gain some weight, so you dont get sick. Michele answered Saturday June 4 2005, 9:58 am: Well it sounds you like you heading there. And I think you are very mis-iformed about food and nutrition. Water doesn't have any calories, You have to drink water. It won't put weight on you. If you don't drink water every day, you will become constipated, de-hydrated, your skin will get dry, your hair will get brittle, and if you are also not eating you hair will fall out Do you want to be a 98 lb bald woman? FInd out what foods are healthy and eat those. It sounds like you are well on your way to becoming the weight you want to be, but if you continue, you'll be dead, and well, that weighs nothing!
Become a vegaterian, you won't gain weight, you'll only eat healthy food that is not high in empty calories, and the best of all, You'll LIVE!
You need to change your thinking pattern. It won't feel natural at first. You'll be afraid of gaining weight, but keep it up, and eventually you'll convince yourself that healthy is better than dead. And fruits and veggies are extremely good for you. You'll live a long and healthy life and live long enough to look back on this period and realize how mistaken you were to think that food was your enemy. NOt all food.
DO so reasearch on the web, I know that there are sits with pictures out there of people who are anorexic and are just skeletons.
YOu also run the risk of messing up your metablites and having a heart attack and dieing. DO you remember that Terri Schiavo case, that lady who was a vegetable and her husband wanted to remove her feeding tube, but her parents did not? It was all over the news two months ago. She started down that road by being anorexic and bulemic. She had a heart attack, She was in her twenties. She didn't die though, she just lost oxygen to her brain long enough to damage her brain, so she remained in a vegetative state for 15 years. Is that what you want?
Please think fruit and vegegables, eat those, while you get more info on being a vegan.
Julie174 answered Saturday June 4 2005, 9:29 am: well you SHOULD eat 3 meals a day and some snacks in between. and you need water every day. your body can't go on very long without enough food or water. You could be anorexic. Please just eat and drink water. You need it. 20 year olds are fine to weigh 101 lbs. it's normal.
