The O.C. Supertones, Five Iron Frenzy, and The Insyderz are all Christian ska bands.
It's usually like punk/pre-hardcore or surf rock and the bands use brass instruments like the trombone, the trumpet, and the saxaphone. Sometimes a lot of distorted electric guitar is used, and in the case of some of the new O.C. Supertones stuff, it sounds a lot like surf rock with some rap in it. So that's basically ska for you. Just about anything with brass in it, but mainly it's punk/pre-hardcore stuff.

I myself don't know all that much about the ska genre of music. So I referred you to the one person who does. My boyfriend, Evan, is the ultimate ska fan. (At least the most obsessed that I have come by so far. :-P)Here he speaks:

I guess you could easily sum up ska by saying that it's just sped up jazz with punk drums in the background. But that would leave you with an inaccurate description. As any other genre, such as rock, for instance, there are many different styles and sub categories of ska. The more traditional ska (examples:The Slackers, The Skatallites, Desmond Dekker)
has a reggae feel to it, as that's where it originated. All ska bands have horns, and if they don't, then they must have two-tone guitar.The simple guitar beat that
you can hear being played in reggae and "trad-ska" is called playing in octaves, or playing "two-tone." This style of guitar is essential in all ska bands, no matter how fast or slow they play.
Aside from traditional ska, you can find ska bands that can be easily categorized as punk. This subcategory of ska, which is appropriately called "ska-punk," has fast horn riffs, speedy drums, and horn and guitar solos every now and then. Good ska-punks: Streetlight Manifesto, Catch 22, Big D and The Kids Table, Reel Big Fish, The Forces of Evil, and The Blue Meanies.

Ska is a form of Jamaican music which began in the late 1950s. Combining elements of traditional mento and calypso with an American jazz and rhythm and blues sound, it was a precursor in Jamaica to rocksteady, and later, reggae. It is the predominant form of music listened to by the Rudeboy and Skinhead movements amongst others, with artists such as Symarip, Laurel Aitken, The Charmers and The Pioneers aiming songs at these groups as far back as the 1960s.
