kitty_kat123 answered Monday May 23 2005, 6:22 pm: Well,
for a lot of teens like yourself, weight is a big issue in other girls (and sometimes guys') lives. However, there is a solution. You can excercise every day. If you have a backyard, great. Run about 20 laps a day in your backyard. (depending on size) if you live in an apartment complex, even better, do about 5 of those a day and in weeks, you'll have lost weight. Put yourself on a diet. WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T MAKE YOURSELF THROW UP OR STARVE YOURSELF. IT DOESN'T HELP. Wacth what calories and sugars are in your foods and don't sit on the computer so much. Do an after school activity. Examples are cheerleading, soccer, tennis, badminton, chess, ANYTHING YOU LIKE TO DO! :-) it will help you get out of the house more AND try to do something active, something that requires work! Best of luck and don't worry sweetie, this problem is VERY common with girls your age!

First of all, cut out the soda - even if it's diet soda. It's sooo bad and will be one of the reasons you can't start losing weight. Drink 2 litres of water a day. Sometimes when you think you are hungry, your body is actually thirsty and doesn't know how to get the message across. The soda will also be dehydrating you so making you feel sluggish and not much energy - am I right? Try and cut down on carbs (white pasta, white bread, potatoes, white rice) Instead, if you don't think you can cope without those, go for wholemeal bread, wholemeal pasta, and brown rice. Try and eat your evening meal by 7.30 and not to have any carbs in that. So go for something lke chicken or fish with vegetables. If you eat and then go to bed soon after, your body will not have time to properly digest the food before shutting down into sleep mode. Therefore the food that hasn't digested will be stored as fat. Hope this helps a bit x [ Daisy's advice column | Ask Daisy A Question ]
L__A__M answered Sunday May 22 2005, 2:51 am: The first step is realization, and you've already accomplished that. It sounds like you've already started excersizing by skating to school, but excersizing must be weighed out with eating habits. If you really want to loose weight, cut out soda completely (whether it's diet or not), because they're both bad for you in the long run. You can drink juices, water, and make sure you're eating the right foods, from the proper food groups. Whenever there's an oppurtunity to excersize (like walking up the stairs, instead of taking the elevator), then do so.
But please realize, you are only 13... young, and still growing, so maybe it is a phase, and you'll grow out of your 'chubby-stage'? [ L__A__M's advice column | Ask L__A__M A Question ]
Po answered Saturday May 21 2005, 11:55 pm: I used to have this same problem, when i was in 5th grade i weighed like 150+, now Im in 8th and i weigh 125, I'm 5'6.75" tall. i also live in a small town with nothing to do...but how i lost weight was because my parents noticed how lazy i was and like how i got easily distracted (computer tv etc), they took me to the doctor to check me out for ADD i had it (still do)...and the medicine they put me on + playing bball made me loose tons because i quit playing all the time on the computer and stoped watching tv. sorry if none of this really applies to you, im just saying its a posibility that its not e your fault.
hope i helped

adorable247 answered Saturday May 21 2005, 9:35 pm: that is so kool how you admitted it!! i heard that diet soda is like really bad for you like it helps you in weight wise more than regular but there is this other stuff (i think it starts with an A) which like can give you heart problems. you know while you are on the computer you could lift a dumb bell with the other hand or before you go to bed do sit ups/push ups and increase the amount you do every month or day it will help. if you dont want to do that follow one of those diet plans. i hope i helped!!
