hopeless101 answered Monday May 16 2005, 11:00 pm: being tested is simple actually, they just ask some basic questions, I was tested when I was about 10 and they ask about how you act sometimes, and a lot of people have ADD and ADHD, its pretty common so dont worry about that, hope I helped, bye [ hopeless101's advice column | Ask hopeless101 A Question ]

Michele answered Sunday May 15 2005, 10:11 pm: Being tested for ADD or even ADHD has nothing to do with how smart you are. It has to do with your attention span. They may give you something boring to read, or have you watch a boring show to see if you pay attention, or if you attention gets diverted to something elsein the room. And of course that can happen to anyone. We all get bored, but I guess ADD and
ADHD is defined by how often, how much and how intense we are at NOT paying attention to what we are supposed to be paying attention to. So like when you are in class, you learn NOTHING because you are unable to pay attention long enough. They may also have you read or watch something that you would find REAL interesting. They they will watch you to see if you can keep paying attention to it, or if your attention wanders, even though it is something that you would wish that you could pay attention to. Does this make sense? Hope so. Don't worry about it. The doctors will be very very nice.

askforanswersfromAndie answered Sunday May 15 2005, 8:30 pm: OK listen i have ADD but it is like one of the lowest kinds but that is beside the point ok it is nothing to be ashamed of or feal stupid about it jut means that if you have ADD you have a different way of learning then other people and that is ok and if you have ADHD they you learn a different way and you are hyper and it is harder for you to controle it that other people and its not that bad so don't worry about it just relax and do your best no biggy.
Hope i helped

KatLynn answered Sunday May 15 2005, 8:29 pm: You shouldn't feel dumb. Myboyfriend has ADD. Many teenagers have both ADD and ADHD. It's quite normal. And, the one doing your testing does this for a living; they won't think anything weird of you. [ KatLynn's advice column | Ask KatLynn A Question ]

iSLAND_iNTHE_SUNx0 answered Sunday May 15 2005, 8:16 pm: Don't feel dumb! Its not like you're the only person who's ever had to do this. A lot of people have ADD/ADHD (I need to get tested for it to). There are even celebrities who have ADD (Mary-Kate Olsen in particular). Just relax and be calm. If you have it, just know that knowing, and them knowing will make things a little easier for you. Good luck with testing!

fragileivory answered Sunday May 15 2005, 7:59 pm: I have ADD, and I've been diagnosed for a few months now. They put me on Concerta, and I can concentrate so much better! If you have ADD, you'll be amazed at how much better you feel once they get you on medication.
The advice I have for you is to relax. Whoever tests you has done this before. Most of the questions are academic. They won't tell you if it's right or wrong, so don't worry about. Just do your best, be yourself, answer questions as you get them.
What they do is give you an IQ test. You'll have math and have to solve puzzles. I'm not sure the lady who tested me even knew what I was being tested for, because she just had to give results to a doctor.
