Ok, well i've been best friends with this boy since like the beginning of this year, which might not sound long, but we're really close. So anyway, i liked him at the beginning of the year before we were friends, but i stopped before anything happened. Then we became best friends, because he found out and we started talking more. So then just a few days ago, Friday actually, I wasnt at school, because i went to Maryland, so i left him a comment on his xanga that said, I'm gonna miss you today :-) im sorry i couldnt come to you LAST baseball game, i REALLY wanted to. <3: so my friend mel wrote him a comment that day that said; what's going on with you and her(me)? and then she started talking about something else. So anyway i come online that night, and my friend IMs me and shes like, are you and him going out? and im like, no.. why? and then i noticed the comment on his xanga, and right after i saw that the friend i was talking to right now IMed me and told me that aubrey thought we were going out, and when mel told her nothing was going on, she didnt believe her so she went and asked him, and ((so im told)) he gave her a wierd face and said no aubrey, were not, so aubrey started thinking i like him. Yesterday, he was online, and we were talking, and hes like, "who do you like?" and i dont like him, so anyway, i was like, "who do you think?" and hes like, "give me a hint" so i was like, "he's my best friend" then i started thinking, that wasnt a good clue, hes going to think its him. so he IMed me back, and he said, "i dont know, give me another clue" and i was like, "who do you have in mind, like any possible ideas?" and hes like, "is it me?" and im like, "is that seriously what you were thinking?" and he was like, "no, just a guess...seriously who is it" then hes like, "shoot i gotta go, tell me later, byye" and he signed off. Then he came on later and i was like, "truthfully, do i act like i like you?" and he was like, "no it was just a guess" and i was like, "no not that, mel and aubrey said i act like i like you" and he was like "o" and i was like, "do i?" and hes like, "idk" and i was like, "i dont know where they got that from" and he's like, "neither do i" and he didnt seem like it bothered him that all these rumors were going around about us. then he asked who i liked again, and then he had to go AGAIN, so he said tell me later. So i was signed off from like 7-10:30 and the entire time i was trying to think about the kid i like, but my best friend kept popping into my head.
QUESTIONS::
1) Why didnt he seem bothered by the rumors?
2) How do we stop these rumors, theyre too hard to ignore.
3) Why does everyone think i like him?
4) Why couldn't i stop thinking about him?

wow. okay ill take it one thing at a time. first of all guys are really hard to get. i dont even think guys get themselves. anyway he might not have seemed bothered because he might like you. or he just doesnt care that people are runnin their mouths. and there really isnt a way to stop a rumor. i know thats not what you wanted to hear. all i can say about that is that they tend to not last long. people get bored and knew gossip starts.just keep denying it and try not to get in any fights over it. its not worth that. now everyone probably thinks you like him because you guys are so close. its hard to hide a really good friendship. and when the really good friendship is between a guy and a girl its usually mistaken for being something more. sometimes it is. the last question seemes like the easiest to answer. i think you actually already know and just dont want to admit it. i think that maybe you do like him more than a friend if hes all you can think about and you seem to care about him an awful lot. but thats really confusing trying to draw the line. ill warn you though that if you do get together with him just remember that of you guys break up it will never be the same and you might never be as close. some people are better to have as friends forever rather than boyfriend for a little while. only you can decide that. im sure you will make the right choice even if it means hiding your true feelings, at least for now. you sound like a very bright girl. email me again or IM me if you need anymore thoughts. or let me know how it works out.

Maybe the rumors dont bother him becuz he likes the fact that everyone thinks that you like him. And maybe everyone thinks you like him becuz you really do. I think that the reason you couldnt stop thinking bout him is becuz deep downinside you might really have feelings for this guy. From what i heard he seems like a really great person. Maybe you should ask him who he likes...and keep talking to him...maybe there you will find you answer (if you like him or not) well, i hope my advice helped you! keep me posted!

Because people are spreading stuff, and bothering you about it which is sending you mixed messages about if you really do like him or not.

Yeah, they will be hard to ignore but you're just going to have to deal with it untill they die off. This is your best friend here and that's it. They need to learn to accept that. Don't stop talking to him though because of the rupors, that stupid.

Well that comment is sort of hinting to the fact that you like him .. but probably because you talk to him alot, hang out with him ect. But that what you do with best firends.. they'll eventually see it.
4) Why couldn't i stop thinking about him? Because of all the chaos thats going on. But you really have to think, do you like him ? because to me, it sounds like he likes you. That's why he guessed himself as someone you like hoping you'd say yes and was so curious to know who you like. But if you really think of him as ONLY a best friend, don't ruin that and stick to the other guy you like. You could probably ruin a friendship that means alot to you by goinq out with them and not really liking them as a boyfriend then eventually breaking up than just staying friends. so concider it.
