can a doctor or whatever tell if u have already had sex? i mean how can they tell? cuz your hymen can be broken lots of ways other then sex.... and if they can tell otherwise.. then how can they tell?????????????

Honestly, you need some serious tech equipment only your Ob/Gyn will have. Most regular physicist's dont check your 'area', with women anyway. Thats what the Ob/Gyn's for.
I think the only visual way to tell so far is if the hymen has been ruptured, but even that can get torn by almost any daily activity.
You shouldn't lie to the doctor. Always tell her the truth, because in almost all the states, they're not allowed to tell the padres. If you tell your doctor, then they'll just try and help. S'what they're there for :D

Well are you going to an OB/GYN doctor or your regular family doctor. If it is the regular family doctor he won't be examining you down there. He/she doesn't have the equipment. But what may happen is he/she may ask you if you are having sex. After a certain age, he/she should be examining you ALONE, without your parents, but with a nurse, and he/she may ask you if you are sexually active, and in most states, it is against the law to share with your parents what you told the doctor. You should let the doctor know because he/she will give you info that you need, that you will not ask your parents for.
If you are going to an OB/GYN they may ask you if you are sexually active, if yes, the doctor will do an internal exam with a specula, certainly after inserting that instrument, you will no longer have a hymen in place. It does not hurt, it is uncomfortable, and sort of embarassing, but all women go through if. You should be seeing an OB/GYN if you are sexually active. It is the only way to have a healthy sex life,and avoid pregnancy. If you are not willing to be alittle embarassed and go to a OB/Gyn, then you should not be having sex.

They can't tell if you've had sex, they can GUESS that you have or not depending on if you have little tears in your vaginal walls from having sex. BUT, that can also happen if you are masturbating. It is wise to be HONEST with your doctor anyway, so if you ARE sexually active, tell him.

well theres no foolproof way to "tell" cuz as u said, it can be broken many different ways. when you see a gyno or doctor, they will ask you... tell them the truth. they cant tell your parents or anyone else anyway and it will help if they know so they can determine what is best for your health. hope this settles it. <3

Well if you are going to a gynocologist, they are going to ask you straight out if you have had sex anyways. So what is the diffenence? Your right, your hymen can be broken many ways, so they probably can't tell just by looking.

They can always tell if your having any problems, down below. There is a difference from having sex and your layer of skin breaking because of different things for example horse riding. If you are having problems down there and she wants see it then if your layer of skin broke then you can just because of horse riding if you havent had sex.
