My daughter did this tongue piercing thing (she was over 21). She said it was very painful so I don't think you want to try it yourself. The tougue can also get infected real easily and trust me it isn't something you want in your mouth. because it won't heal up very fast either.
Even if you do it yourself what are you going to do when mom sees it? She will because it will swell for a couple of days. There aren't any clean and legal places that will do it if you are underage. :)

If you find a place that will do it without parent's permission, you'll probably end up with an infected tongue. Also, you can do some pretty bad damage doing it yourself. I think you might be stuck waiting this one out.

DO NOT pierce your own tongue. Also, do not go to any place that will pierce your tongue without your parents permission, they are breaking the law and would you really trust them to have the best quality in care and cleanliness then? If your mom thinks you are too young, it might be that you are too young emotionally to handle something like that. Personally, I think you should wait too, you are pretty young and there are many infections you can get as a result of improper care for your tongue.

NEVER pierce your own tongue, you can die because there is a main artery(sp) there. just convince your mom that your responsible, even though it really has nothing to do with it and tell her that theres nothing wrong with it and your old enough. stuff like that

umm.. well ive wanted my tongue piereced since i was 13.. but ive never gotten it done.. my older sister had told me to wait till i was 18 and if it's still what i wanted to do, then do it.. you change sooo much throughtout highschool.. i think it'd be smarter for you to wait.. im 18 now and i still want to do it..and my mom told me no.. and i respect her and i figured since ive waited since i was 13.. i can wait a few more months till i move out.

and there's not a place that will let someone who's 13 do it w/ out parental consent..

i dont know if that helped at all.. it was jus from personal experience :)

tell her that it isnt fair that she aproves of an 11 year old aving it done and not a 13 year old. DONT DO IT YOURSELF the needle has to be sterolised. beg her more to have it done she may give in soon lol. ask her how old she says you have to be for her to allow you to get it done

13 is really a young age to get your tongue periced! But if you really want it done you might have to wait till your a little older, because if your mum is saying no it usually doesnt work if your begging her time and time again. Try acting a little more responsible and then she might see that you can handle it.

13 is way to young to be getting anything pierced besides your ears! and no..you cannot do it anywhere without a parents permission before your 18 (ages vary from state to state) and i stongly recommend to not do it yourself, you have nerves in your tongue that you could hit and it could get very infected...just wait..maybe ask your mom again when your 16 or so and if she still says no then wait...
hope this helps and please dont do anything stupid...

13 is really young. Actually, in most states in the United States it is illegal to get any body piercings when your under the age of 16, even with your parents permission. It's not as simply as just getting your ears peirced.

If your seriously thinking about going somewhere that will illegally pierce a 13 year old... then think again. Anywhere that will do that could also possibly re-use their needles. Or skimp on a few disinfectants to save some money.

Now, I will go on and give you a few pointers. I have gotten a total of 6 body piercings, not including my ears. My tongue was my third piercing 4 or 5 years ago. My first piercing was my navel, and my mother did not approve of it at first.

The only way to make your mother think that your responsible enough for a body peircing is to actually BE responsible enough for a body piercing. This means you need to research the topic a bit.

Learn about the care of your piercing before you start to think about getting it done. Then start to examine the different piercing salons in your area. Find the perfect one and know EVERYTHING about them. Make sure they are clean and go by all the rules.

Your should also research the things that can go wrong. It is possible that your tongue could get infected, learn what to do if that does happen. Learn about the dangers of what can happen durring the piercing. There are a lot of viens and such in your tongue that could get in the way of the needle. This would not be good. Thats why you need to make sure that your piercing has experience piercing tongues.

Seriously.... "im 13!" Does that mean you actually think that your old and mature? 13 is very young.

Don't listen to your friend who said to pierce your tongue yourself, and don't let a buffoon who will pierce children's tongues illegally touch anything in your mouth.

uh.... 13? You just typed 13??? No f*cking way. You're mom's right. YOU'RE TOO YOUNG to get your tougue pierced. I just... I.... I don't even know where to begin this one with!!! Your mom obviously cares about you a lot. To graduate school and get a job. You can't get a good job if you have your tounge pierced. But that's like... a minor one. GETTING ONE YOURSELF!? ARE YOU INSANE!? Look, if you do that, one mistake can cause your WHOLE entire tounge to swollen up, and you wouldn't be able to taste anything. You would have destroyed your taste buds. Sad? It's the truth, kid. Don't do it. If you think getting it pierced is cool, you're wrong. Try making out with a guy with braces, when you have those things... I never done it, but it'd sure be funny to watch.... Anywho, my evil advice column needs some rest. Bye kids.

heh.. wow i can really relate to this. let me start my telling you the answer is NO. heres my story.. : last friday i was at my friend, christines house and we went over another friends house, laura. we went in lauras parents room. she was going to pierce christines and my ears. we both wanted our second hole and our cartilage done (up top). so me, being the stupid person that i am, went first. laura did the second hole on my right ear and then her mom wanted to come in. well we didnt want her mom to know, so we took all the stuff with us., except for one thing; the marker she used to put a dot where we were going to pierce it. so her mom went in there after we ran to lauras room to finish. her mom noticed to sharpie marker on her night stand and instantly thought we were all sniffing it and getting high with it. so, we had to explain what was really going on. i took the one ear that was dones earing out. well, now its infected. theres even more problems because of it but i wont go into that. when my parents find out, which they will, ill be in alot of trouble for not asking and for letting my friend do it instead of professionally. so let me tell you, dont pierce your tounge. yes, you can kill yourself. and ive never met anyone as young as 13 with their tounge pierced. if you feel so strongly about getting it done though, then go get it done professionally. good luck!
