Heaven?

Question Posted Friday May 6 2005, 9:08 pm

My mom and I started going to church recently. I totally believe in God and I am 100% Christian. However, my dad was baptised (sp?) as a Morman, and neither of my brothers go to church. My brother A, isnt in to the whole believin in stuff type, hes more i'll believe it wen i see it. And Brother B just doesnt go to church. So my question is will my family all go to Heaven, or will my brothers go to Hell? I'd love answers asap please.

read revelations:
it is mentioned in several other sections of the new testament that anybody who has denied christ will go to hell. your dad's a mormon, and so is covered by this, as it is somewhat christian. mormons emphasize resurrection whereas the rest of chrisianity emphasizes his sacrifice on the cross, its just a dogmatic difference. so he should be going, unless he is an evil man. your brothers are screwed, and will burn in the fiery pits of hell. for they have been informed of christ's existence and have denied it. bushmen in the amazon who have never heard of him or the bible and are good people will go to heaven due to the fact that they were never brought the message of god. its kinda funny that i am expounding religous doctrine, but thats what i get out of my attendance of church.
try to get them interested if possible.

Just because you don't go to church doesn't mean your going to hell i mean its jsut a way to show your dedication. It's when you don't believe in him and you don't think that he is the Savior and Christ. As long as you don't worship satin and you believe in God i think you are good. Remember he is forgiving as long as you want to be forgiven, he loves his children!

John 14:6 (KJV)
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

There's your answer. The only way to go to Heaven is through Jesus. You're probably learning this at your new church, and I'm so glad that you and your mom have found it.

It's hard to hear, and pretty scary, to think that your dad and brothers won't be going to Heaven. But God is just and fair, which means that all sins must be punished. Now, the grace part is the fact that Jesus took care of all the punishment for every sin every human ever committed- but the catch is free will. God gave humans free will, which means he's not going to force his grace on us. We have to ask for it, by saying, "Jesus, take my sins."

Now, just because your brothers don't want to go to church right now doesn't mean they'll never be saved. The Holy Spirit is always at work.

Pray for your brothers and your dad. Pray that God will work in their lives like he has worked in your life and your mom's. Pray that they'll come to accept the grace and forgiveness that is Jesus Christ. Continue to talk to them about your newfound faith, and live in a way that let's the light of Jesus's love shine through you. You can also ask your Christian friends at church to help you, to pray for you and your family.

I wish you all the best. God Bless!

Sorry if this doesn't help, but I don't believe in the whole heaven hell kinda thing.People just say things like that to scare you.I can't blame brother A,maybe he's like me and thinks that you don't need to be told by the bible what to do.He probrlay rather make descisions for himself. Why doesnt brother B want to go?If there is heaven and hell, they will go to heaven as long as they are good people. There are plenty of good people who don't go to church, so as long as they aren't bad then there's nothing to worry about.

Whether your dad was baptized morman or not, he can still turn from that (if he hasn't already) and accept Jesus as Savior. There is hope for your brothers too. Outward acts reflect the inward man.

You may already have an understanding of this, but Christianity is all about having a relationship with Jesus so the Christian can be made right with God the Father. The Holy Spirit lives inside the Christian to guide, council and various other things in that relationship. Going to church, praying, reading ones Bible are things Christians do to keep the flame of the relationship going.

It sounds like your concern for your dad and brothers is the Lord Jesus stirring your heart. This is what is called spiritual laboring. I advise you to labor in prayer for your family and don't quit. You need to trust God to move in them. I'll warn you though, as the Holy Spirit convicts their hearts, they will feel it inside. And this may cause more rebellion against the truth because they are fighting it. But don't get discouraged. This is all part of the laboring process. Bless you for loving your family so much.

first of all.. i`m not condemning anyone. if you read your Bible, it clearly says that in order to get to Heaven, you have to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and believe in Him by faith. witness to your family and tell them about God. that`s the best answer i can give.

Micah answered Friday May 6 2005, 11:27 pm:
as a christian your Dad is going to hell if hes Morman. (as a christian that is) If yoru brother A doesnt believe that hes a sinner and believe that God died for him, then yes, hes going to hell too. Brother B could still be a christian, you dont have to go to church to be a christian. all you ahve to do is except Jesus into your heart, and know that you are a sinner. and confess your sins to Jesus. your dad and brothers stil have hope, you and your mom need to pray for them, and you can get the church envolved too, the more people the better. talk to your brothers too.. just about why they dont go with them, or just get them to go everyone now and then.

If the brothers and Dad don't accept God into their lives and realize that he died on the cross for their sins, they are going to Hell. Does Brother B believe? If Brother A doesn't believe when judgement day comes around, he will be going to Hell. There is still time left to help him become close to God.

Well going strictly by christian faith your father and brothers are going to hell, sorry. Going by another religion, such as say Judaism if you are all good people then you will all go to heaven.
