Mackenzie answered Wednesday May 4 2005, 8:33 am: I just moved OUT of ARizona... And no.. no southeRn accents... they'Re not Rednecks. And it is completely deseRt the closest to the boRdeR you go... such as 'Douglas, AZ', and it's deseRt in some NoRtheRn places, such as 'Winslow, AZ'; but up NoRth it's mainly mountains, and yes.. if you live in 'Flagstaff, AZ', you WILL see snow, but if you don't settle theRe oR *Right* neaR it.. you won't see any snow whatsoeveR! It Rains about once a month, and has something called a 'Monsoon Season', wheRe it'll Rain eveRy thRee days foR a month; which is Really kind of cool, because you'll see a Rainbow eveRyday!!! The sunsets aRe like no otheR state! EveRy coloR you can think of, you will find in the sunset/sunRise! TheRe's TONS of palm tRees, and haRdly any 'noRmal' tRees, and haRdly anyone can keep gRass alive. Most homes have a pool; which Really is a neccesity, if you ask me. It usually doesn't get much higheR than 115 oR so, but you'll have about 7 days of the yeaR it'll Reach 121-ish. The hottest months aRe the same as any otheR state... June and July. You'll need to staRt weaRing a jacket aRound NovembeR, and you should be able to pack them away aRound mid-MaRch. People theRe aRe supeR fRiendly; howeveR, the state is PACKED with Mexicans! You'll be able to tell how many Mexicans aRe neaR you based on the aRea. The malls theRe aRe awesome; and theRe aRe soo many! I'm not shoRe if you'Re coming fRom a RuRal place, but AZ is NOT RuRal whatsoeveR!! TheRe's stoRes on eveRy stReet and stReet coRneR, and the Roads aRe on a complete gRid - meaning no cuRved stReets oR backRoads. The gRound is 100% smooth, so you won't have to woRRie about mountains much, oR sloped dRiveways. You know what... all of my life I've thought baddly about ARizona, but I would give anything in the woRld to simply go home; anything. If you want suggestions; I say check out Glendale [wheRe I happen to be fRom; and houses aRe at a veRy Reasonable pRice, and all beautiful], PeoRia, and PaRadise Valley. Really, I say you'Re WAYYY betteR off sticking to what's called "The Valley", of ARizona; consisting of Phoenix, Glendale, PeoRia, Scottsdale, Mesa, ChandleR, PaRadise Valley, and Tempe. TRy this site: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) PeRhaps you'll find it useful. [Dependant on the aRea you live in]ARizona is an amazing place, and I'm shoRe it'll gRow on you quickeR than you might think. I wish you and youR family all the best of luck! Just be open-minded, and know that you aRe going to a tRuly amazing place... LoveNJstyle answered Tuesday May 3 2005, 9:26 pm: well i live up north and i go there on vacation alot and no they dont have southern or any other accents that i can see. anyway, there are a lot of hispanics so you will here a ton of spanish. from what ive seen it is pretty dessert-y but there are lots of things to do there. the weather is harsh, but not humid, you can get a kickass tan, and it rarely rains. good luck with everything! <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]

xXxpinky615xXx answered Tuesday May 3 2005, 5:04 pm: I've been there before. It's not totaly desert like if you're moving into a city, that's not all desert. People don't have souther accents, that's only in Texas and moving over to the east. It's hot ass hell there in the summers though. There are plenty of snakes and tarantulas, but for the most part, it's one beautiful state. I'm sure your parents would have you take a trip with them out there so you can actually experience it out there for yourself. Phoenix is beautiful... all the major cities are great there.
