Okay.. welp the other day i dyed my hair dark and now it looks like it is black. I HATE having 'black' hair. My mom won't let me dye it again so is there anyway i can get it back to brown? I put that sun-in stuff in my hair but will that have any effect since my hair is BLACK!?
Shelbs4968 answered Tuesday May 3 2005, 5:52 pm: wash your hair a bunch of times! I got my hair colored a while back to my natural color, and it was almost black atfirst, but then it lightened a bunch after i washed it [ Shelbs4968's advice column | Ask Shelbs4968 A Question ]
shootingstar25xo answered Tuesday April 26 2005, 7:46 pm: Wow, be VERY careful with sun-in! It turned my hair orange'ish .. sort of. Lemon juice works pretty well, you can get that at grocery stores and such. Also, go out in the sun a lot. Even though your hair is 'black', the sun will probably dye it or bleach it in some way. Hope i helped! [ shootingstar25xo's advice column | Ask shootingstar25xo A Question ]
amsybethers914 answered Tuesday April 26 2005, 7:16 pm: aww..how sad..well umm since your mom wont let u dye your hair again..just wash it a lot with a strong shampoo/conditioner...that will take some of the color out and to lighten your hair you can rinse it in lemon juice...ive never actually tried that but one of my dark brown-haired friends does it and her hair is like way lighter thatn it was before she rinsed it in lemon juice...hopefully that will work for you!...good luck!...rate me ;) [ amsybethers914's advice column | Ask amsybethers914 A Question ]
ballerina04 answered Tuesday April 26 2005, 7:01 pm: Hm.. if you wash with a clarifying shampoo and dishwashing soap (they have high pH levels) they color will soften a little bit. I wouldn't really suggest something like Sun-In so soon, you don't know what will happen the color. If it's someting you want to try though, put a little bit on the underside of your hair to test it. This way, if you don't like it, you'll only have to deal with a little bit, not your whole head. [ ballerina04's advice column | Ask ballerina04 A Question ]
Duckie answered Tuesday April 26 2005, 6:00 pm: Okay, well it'll only take a month for your normal color to start growing back. I promise, and washing it and going out in the sun will make it lighter (quicker) anyway! Lol, I know it sucks that you don't like it, but it's probably waayy cute on you, lol, so don't sweat it! It'll be back to normal color real soon! :D

LoveNJstyle answered Tuesday April 26 2005, 5:17 pm: it will eventually get lighter (it happend to a friend of mine) you could get it stripped (like wash it out with chemicals) or do it yourself with the stuff you can get at the store. <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
Karen answered Tuesday April 26 2005, 5:12 pm: If you just dyed your hair the other day, then your hair will be dark for a while. When I first dyed my hair dark in the summer, it came out black but overtime and washing my hair a lot, the color faded. Try washing your hair a lot and that will help fade the color. Dish detergent will basically get rid of most of the color in your hair if you use it but I have never done that. If you put Sun In in your hair, it will give your hair a orangey/red tint color if use too much. That's what happened to me. Even though you don't like the black, other people may and change is good. The color will fade eventually, don't worry. [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
