Hi. I am 13 years old and I am on the computer a loottttt. All of a sudden things started blanking out when I was on the computer. You know how if you stare straight you can still see things on the right and left of you? Well on my left eye, I cant really see anything to my left when I'm looking straight. Its like blurry. And if I focus on something for example this word....dog.... if I focus on the g the d a o dissapear and then theres only a g with a white backround there. Basically when I focus on anything everything around disappears. And when I stare straight I cant see my arm. Its just not there. But it really is I just cant see it. So, I cant really see anything unless I focus on one thing. And if I watch tv and for instance if I see a face, I cant see their body. Its really weird, and Its hard to explain. Do you think I'm going blind? If I went to an eye doctor what would they do? This is VERY scary and its really freaking me out! Help me please!!! This has never happend before.
OrangeChikn answered Sunday April 24 2005, 6:24 pm: If that has been going on for a while, I would go to the eye doctor ASAP. If it just started, wait it out and if it's still there in a few days go to the eye doctor. And let your parents know, likely they can help you. SurpriseYourself answered Sunday April 24 2005, 5:53 pm: well go to the eye doctor first of all, and dont stare at the computer screen so much, it messes with your eyes if your on alot, and if you do want to be on alot in a day then use it only a half hour at a time then take like a 10 15 minute break, and dont use that break time in front of the t.v. if you take a break it helps your eyes not get so messed up from the screen [ SurpriseYourself's advice column | Ask SurpriseYourself A Question ]

XxStRaWb3rRyxX answered Sunday April 24 2005, 5:41 pm: Hey scribble guess what? I have a headache now. Its not a migraine though, and I have never had one before. My head feels weird and I feel kind of dizzy but it feels more like my head is moving back and forth but its not. I have eaten so thats not the problem. Is it just some normal headache? Or did something cause it? Do you think being on the computer too long has caused it? I am not in any sports so thats not the reason. My eyes hurt too. Oh and do you think I should take some advil to help my headache and maybe if it would work on my eyes? [ XxStRaWb3rRyxX's advice column | Ask XxStRaWb3rRyxX A Question ]
xoxoPrettyNPinkxoxo answered Sunday April 24 2005, 5:40 pm: I think that you might have something called having no Peripheral vision...It's where when u look straight ahead you can't see anything to the sides of you. I'm not positive though so you might want to go to a doctor or eye doctor so they can check it out.
Scribble answered Sunday April 24 2005, 5:32 pm: I can think of three things it might be:
1. You need prescription glasses, go see your optician (has it been happening for a while?)
2. You' ve done something (maybe sport) to expand the blood vessels in your eye, which can have the symptoms you describe (although it goes away in a coupla days).
3. You're gonna get a migraine in the not too distant future- the symptoms you describe are EXACTLY what happens before i get a migraine. [ Scribble's advice column | Ask Scribble A Question ]
