I am African-American/Japanese and the guys that I am normally into are white skater types. Nobody I've ever really liked has liked me back, and I've been told it's because I'm too shy. Is it really because I'm too shy or is it because of race? Do guys really think about race?

If they do, they're idiots. Have confidence in yourself! I think people who come from diverse ethnic backgrounds are extremely beautiful. My cousin is African-American/French-Canadian/Korean and she's gorgeous. Of course, you do need to have personality, too. So have faith in yourself...you ROCK and you can get any guy you want. Any guy that doesn't want you, whatever his reason, is just a cuttlefish-butt so forget about him.

Some probably do,they probably wouldn't be real friendly though so I wouldn't worry about that. It may be because you're shy. Learn something about skating (if you don't know much) and start talking to them about that. Get some conversation going. Ask them questions about skating. They really love teaching things about skating. :)

well actually guys dont care what race you are really. unless theyre black and your white, then they hate every white person.(no offence) they probably jsut dont really like you cuz your shy

Well guys aRe only human, and eveRyone has, oR at least HAVE HAD negative thoughts oR feelings about someone because of theiR Race, so peRhaps some guys would judge you. Depends on the guy. My friend a Philippine and has gone out with like every guy basically the skater ones and band loving. Most guys in this day and age don't care. Plus most find people of the Asian race to be very good looking. My African American friends have as well gone out with white boys. Good luck!

African american ANDjapanese? Dude, this coming from a guy, you probably look like one handsome motherfu**er. Some guys tend to be racist, but thats because they never frigging grow up in their teens all the time!! I got lucky... race doesnt matter to me. I just have to like their personality
If you feel you feel comfortable with these skar types, then stick with em! They probabl like you for who you are, alot of skaters I know are kind of more matue than others.

Okay i can understand where your coming from with this.. ummmm depends on the guy..some go for personality and noot look for wats on the outside but then theres those asshole of guys who dont like another race.. which i know more white guys then anyother race that will not go out of there race.. i mean it could be cause your shy but im real shy sometimes and dont have big major problems getttin a boyfriend.. and i wouldnt think its cause your looks either cause african american and japanese is a pretty mix of race i think.. i hope i havent like made you feel disappointed or anything cause thats not at all what im tryin to do im just bein real with what i know.. but you'll eventually find a guy your interested in and it could be a white skater boy my opinion could be wrong.. so dont get down or anything after you read this please.. hope i helped much luv dez x0x0

I don't think it is because of your race. You are probably beautiful. I do have to say that guys like more outgoing girls. Shyness is wierd for them because they are not always up to making the first move all the time. I mean, they don't want a one sided conversation or even worse...a one sided relationship. I understand that it's hard for some people to not be shy, but just work on opening yourself up. Talk to strangers and make new friends, even guy friends. It will help you. Even if you are nervous when you talk to someone, just laugh if you stutter, just be like "I can't talk right today" and smile.
If you like skater boys, go for the skater boys. Just ease into talking to them.

It could be both. Yea, some guys are shallow about that kind of stuff. Those are what we call assholes! Just flirt with them and let them know you like them. I bet some of them do like you, you just don't think so. Or, maybe THEY are to shy to tell you. Hope I have helped!

heyy .. no its not about your race its really about your shyness so work up your self confidence and flirty things you should have is alot of eye contact and also smile alot and strike up a conversation even just let the skaters know your not shy

I'm not sure whether-or-not any of your skater buddies are rascist, but I do know a lot of shy girls. They're convinced no one likes them when a great deal of guys do. You don't really know for sure if someone likes you until you ask them yourself. If you are asking if it's against the typical white skater type to date girls of a mixed or different race, then it's not.
