I hit my head.

Question Posted Monday April 4 2005, 11:49 am

Today I was standing in a grassy area when my friend ran at me and knocked me over. I hit the back of my head very hard on the ground and my whole head started aching. I had to lie on the ground for about ten minutes because I couldn't get up. My friend walked me home to make sure I was okay and I felt better. Now I have started to feel sick, my head hurts a lot and I feel very weak and tired. I have had concussion before but my vision was distorted and I actually threw up that time. Is this just normal because I knocked my head or have I got concussion or something?

Just tell your parents about what happened and how you've been feeling since you hit your head. Maybe they can tell you if you have a concussion or not. If you still feel like this after a while maybe you should consider going to the hospital just to get checked out. hope I helped -Stefiny

well...i'm not really a medical expert...but i did get hit in the head with a basketball one day and my head started to hurt a LOT after that for the rest of the day and i suffered a minor minor minor concussion. concussions can be as mild as that or like someone being paralized. you might have a concussion....i'd go see a doctor. xoxo.

Sounds like you have a minor concussion. If you ever hit your head so hard that it either makes you sick or your vision goes bad, then thats a good time to visit the Dr. I know its a hassle to go to the Dr's office, but better safe than sorry. Concussions are not something that you should brush off your shoulders. They lead to comas in some cases. Be more careful....people who already had concussions are more suseptable to getting another one. Good Luck!!

My friend had a concussion too and I think you have one. If you still feel sick, dizzy, etc. I suggest (I cant order you, im not your parent or guardian) you go to the hospital.

I'd say get it checked out. Concussions don't always show up the exact same way. Look at it this way, a concussion is a bad brain bruise. Different parts of the brain control different parts of you. So you may have bruised a different part from last time. I would say check it out and your neck too. Feel better!

You really need to get it checked by a doctor.
Head injuries are nothing to mess with. If mom isn't home call her and let her know what is going on.

My dad hit his head and an ambulance had to come and the whole deal. The ambulance person said that any blow to the head should be looked at because its serious..he said my dad could have went to sleep and not woke up in the morning (meaning he would fall into a concussion or unconsiousness in his sleep) so to be on the safe side get it looked at by a doctor.
