mrs_radcliffe answered Wednesday March 30 2005, 7:54 am: yes its very normal, Its usual start your period after one or two years of starting discharge.
S_C answered Wednesday March 30 2005, 7:50 am: Yup, perfectly normal, I think I had discharge for like a year and a half maybe longer before I got my period. Believe me, you don't want it. I didn't get my period until I was 14 (ha, I'm 14 now) but it's definitley something I wish I wouldn't get until like 16. But if you don't have it by like 16 then get a doctor, but you're only 13, so it's fine. Completely normal. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
Karen answered Wednesday March 30 2005, 7:24 am: Yes, it's normal to have been getting discharge for more than a year. It happens to most girls and if it becomes heavier at some point, then that's a sign that your period is on its way.
