well im really trying to lose weight and my friend told me to run a mile 5 days a week then next week run 2 miles and so on if i did that up to 10 miles how long would it take me to lose about 45 pounds?
LoveNJstyle answered Wednesday March 30 2005, 11:06 am: running will not help you loose wait (seriously) if you eat healthy then you will. increasing it by a mile a week will kill your legs! try starting at half then adding a half-mile. if you increase too quickly you wont be as motivated .."joy! i get to run 10 miles today" try different excersizes too...running help your legs and butt. luck! <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
xOtWiXi answered Tuesday March 29 2005, 11:38 pm: Hey! I'll be completely honest- it's not going to be easy to loose that much weight. Try eating healthier, more balanced, don't eat after 7:30 PM, try healthier snacks, taebo, tennis, dancing, whatever will make you happy and having a healthy lifestyle! I recently read a way to loose like 6 lbs a year by just drinking ice cold water with every meal. Contact me, I'll give you the whole list of ways to cut down on stuff and live healthier- I'm almost positive that I still have it! But it sounds like you have a ton of willpower, so good luck, I'm sure you can do it! ♥ [ xOtWiXi's advice column | Ask xOtWiXi A Question ]
Karen answered Tuesday March 29 2005, 4:55 pm: Everyone's body is different when it comes to losing weight and all of us can't tell you when you are going to lose 45 pounds by running and I can tell you that it will be a long time. You can lose weight just be running, you need to eat healthy too. If you eat smalls meals every day that are healthy and drink lots of water and then exercise, it may take you more than a few months to lose about 45 pounds. If you want to run an extra mile each week then you did a week before, that may not be a good thing because running lets say 8 miles a week, then you will be in a lot of pain. Do other exercises rather than running such as cardio ones.

jbdreamer answered Tuesday March 29 2005, 4:47 pm: Well there is much more to losing weight then just running. I would say your eating habits effect your weight more than anything. But while on an effective diet and exercise schedule, a healthy amount of weight to loose is about 2 pounds a week. So it will take you at least 6 months to loose 45 pounds. But that's only if you are extremely discipled. Realistically I think it will take you a year or more. [ jbdreamer's advice column | Ask jbdreamer A Question ]
LoViny0ux914 answered Tuesday March 29 2005, 4:41 pm: depends. everyones body is different. the running thing is good, but 10 miles is kind of a stretch. you'll lose alot of weight in the first week or two IF you drink alot of water along with excercising and eating healthy. by alot of weight i mean anywhere from 7 to 15 lbs. then it'll slow down a bit because your body will get used to it if you do it regularly. also dont forget muscle weighs more than fat, so dont be alarmed if you dont LOSE weight, because you will lose fat but you'll gain muscle. so you'll tone up! hope this helps! oh btw...to answer the original question, if you have a healthy diet and run 5 times a week...45 lbs will probably take 2-3 months! xxo [ LoViny0ux914's advice column | Ask LoViny0ux914 A Question ]
horsesare666es answered Tuesday March 29 2005, 4:24 pm: WEEE! I run too! Well, running 10 miles is a lot :). I run 1.5 or 1mile every day. Trying to get faster. If you add in 25 crunches, and 25 situps you'll loose weight MUCH faster.
also, get in pushup position. then, instead of putting weight on your hands go down so your fore arm is on the ground. hold for as long as possible. if done right its an incredible workout for your abs!
((run up hills as well to get a better shape))
Eating whenever u are only very hungry, and eating right will also help. If u only run it will take longer.
:)Hope I helped.
Have fun running.
Sherry answered Tuesday March 29 2005, 4:21 pm: Okay we wouldent know, BUT not only is exercising a good key to losing weight. So is eating healthy. You cant eat a double cheese burger, a large fry, and a coke and then exercise...and expect to lose weight. But I'm sure you already know that. Your running routine is a good idea! But its a little too much, thats too much strain on your body. How about 1 mile the first week..and then 2 miles after that first week. Stop at 2 miles because it'll hurt too much to do like 4 miles! Okay and just cut out a lot of your sugars: candy, chocolate, juices, and sodas! Drink lots and lots of water. [ Sherry's advice column | Ask Sherry A Question ]
