Long Distance

Question Posted Friday March 25 2005, 4:07 pm

I have many friends that live in Belleville, Illinois. They all miss me when I am in St. Louis, Missouri. I go to Belleville with my best friends father and all of us are really close. I go there maybe 1 to 2 days every week. Maybe every other week. Should I leave my friendships behind over in Belleville? I hate missing them so much and I have went out with a couple of them. And of course I still have major feelings for a few of them. I want to forget the past and go on with the future. Hard part is that I dont know if I want all of them in my future. Can you help?

Why would you not stay friends? You don't have to see friends every single day to remain friends. Keep things as they are.

No, that would be wrong to leave friendships behind you, that wouldn't be being a friend yourself. If you must, communicate by e-mail, letter, Instant Messanger, whatever.... But try to keep a friendship going, you're only hurting yourself by dropping them, unless they are bad influences in your life, then by all means, stop being with them. But if they're good people that you want to keep in touch with, by all means, find a way to do so.

KEEP YOUR FRIENDS!! I've moved around a lot, so I try to keep in contact with my friends. Its great when you get to visit them. But, it doens' mean that you can't make new friends where you live now. Visit your old friends once a week or once every 2 weeks. The ones who stay your friends are going to be your friend for a long time.

Dont totally forget about them. Its hard to have a long distance realationship w/ friends and stuff.I dont want to tell you to forget about them because i dont wanna sound like an ass or anything. But you can still talk to them just dont talk to them all the time.
