Karen answered Wednesday March 9 2005, 7:14 pm: Yes, it this is normal that you have to go to the bathroom more often. Since you have been eating healthier, your body is taking fiber in from the vegetables and this causes you to go to the bathroom more, since it doesn't digest. If you want your body to get used to this, try to not take in that much fiber because it may not get used to it.

AKSherma answered Wednesday March 9 2005, 4:15 pm: Good for you! I know others have already told youthis but vegetables and fruit have a lot of cellulose (fiber), which the body cannot digest and therefore it stays in your colon and is great because it cleans you out. You're getting a great amount of fiber as long as it is not causing loose bowel movements, and if it does that is normal too for a while. You're preventing a lot of future problems due to something called diverticulitis (when it's bad it can cause an obstruction, perforation, which means that the surgeons would have to go in and take out your colon). Plus other health benefits.
ShYbl0nD3 answered Wednesday March 9 2005, 2:13 pm: Your body is just getting used to the new food that you're eating. Having to go to the bathroom will slow down back to normal once your body's used to it. [ ShYbl0nD3's advice column | Ask ShYbl0nD3 A Question ]

BabiiD answered Wednesday March 9 2005, 1:39 pm: Yes, that is normal, i think it's because your body isn't used to all those nutricious foods and it is not used to being so healthy and it dosn't know how to process it. Don't worry.

MFS answered Wednesday March 9 2005, 12:33 pm: you're intaking more fiber from the fruits and veggies... this is normal. It isn't that your body needs to get used to it, it is that this is what fiber does to you - and it is actually healthier. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
