ok well, this is sorta a love life thing, but i dont know it has to do with singing. so i was alone after school in the gym and i was shooting hoops waiting for my boyfriend to pick me up and i didnt know my friend was behind me, so i started singing, and then i shot the ball and when it came back down and i got the rebound, i turned around and he was standing there, and i was like really embarrased, even though he said i was a terrific singer. the only person i can sing in front of is my boyfriend, who also says im a good singer. but i dont know, im really afraid to sing in front of people.
XxLiiLSiiNgErXX answered Saturday March 5 2005, 7:55 am: I have the same problem... espcially since i am quite confused because I have most ppl telling me that I CAN sing and then out of the blue my music teacher in al seriousness tells me that I can't sing... So my advice for you is just to get cocky about it a little and pretend like you are the best singer and If ppl dont like it then forget it, and when that nervous feeling comes over you, just breathe and think to yourself... I'm good I'm good... And then you will be fine. My first experience with singing in front of people happened in oct. when my school had this Broadway in concert thing and I had to sing peter pan and I hated it so much and I was all alone on stage unlike a lot of other ppl... and so many teachers and other people complimented me. I am still just a little nervouse... but I just breathe and get over it. HopeI Helped!

gakkuhideto answered Friday March 4 2005, 9:06 pm: Don't worry about it. Atleast you can sing at all, many people can't. There is absolutely NOTHING for you to be embarassed about. Stagefright is normal, but you will get over this in a few days, it's really no big deal. [ gakkuhideto's advice column | Ask gakkuhideto A Question ]
icey0990 answered Friday March 4 2005, 9:06 pm: If you really want to be able to sing in public..the only way to correct it is to face your fear by singing in public. It will get easier as you do it more. But..its ok if you dont want to sing in front of people. Do you know how many people wont sing in front of others? A LOT and im one of them lol. Its ok if you want to only sing in the shower or in front of your bf..its sweet what your bf said and hes probably right! So go to a talent show and sing..or something in front of people if your serious about wanting to sing in front of people.

powertrash answered Friday March 4 2005, 9:06 pm: So, um, what's the problem?
Are you expected to sing in public now? It just seems like someone overheard you, and turns out you're a good singer.
Why are you afraid to sing in public?
If you don't have to sing and no one is forcing you to, it sounds like you're worrying about nothing really.
