Is it possible to find a tanning bed at a yard/garage sale, or would it be stupid for someone to sell one? I'm just wondering if I should be on the look out for one...but would someone sell a tanning bed? I'm just trying to see what are some other ways for getting one besides ordering one full price. Can you help me?

Karen answered Wednesday March 2 2005, 3:00 pm: Yes, it's possible to find a tanning bed at a yard sale but you rarely find them being sold. Some people actually sell them and it wouldn't be stupid but usually, the tanning beds may not be working properly and such. You can find some one Ebay and you can find out if it works and is safe for you.

MFS answered Wednesday March 2 2005, 11:56 am: Even if you did find one for sale like that, I'd be hesitant... how old would it be? Does it meet current safety and health standards? How often was it cleaned? How much is its cost of upkeep? How much will its use raise your electric bill? While those questions I've posed might seem stupid, if you pay $500 for a tanning bed, only to find out that the bulbs alone cost twice that to replace, you'll regret it.
